The clan wasn't sure if it was wise to allow the shadowy, thick-shelled egg to hatch. As arguments broke out over the many possible ways one can get rid of an egg, Hydrangea silently coaxed the Nocturne hatchling from its shell.

Ave is a good example of why you probably shouldn't hatch strange eggs found in dusty, mysterious chests. Though many Nocturnes are considered vampire-like with their similarities to bats and their inability to see their reflections in certain mirrors, it quickly became clear that Ave is an actual vampire.

Fortunately, Ave is also a prime example of how much good a Nocturne's urge to imitate can do. The biting and stalking habits she had as a hatchling disappeared in less than a week, and she is hardly ever discovered silently watching dragons sleep anymore. Other than her diet and her nocturnal sleep schedule, Ave acts relatively normal. However, some care must be taken to keep her surrounded by other members of the clan. If left alone too long, her more dangerous behaviors can begin resurfacing.
