Shanti was once a guardian who lost her Charge. She fell into a deep depression and lay in the Tangled Wood, waiting for the forest to take her body back to the soil. However, she was instead transformed and given a new lease on life.
She likes to think it was the will of the forest itself for her to live, and this is what was responsible for her sudden transformation. The truth is more likely to be that some Shadow dragon with a breed-change scroll took pity on her.
Sometimes she still feels a strong pull to care for and protect things similar to her lost Charge. She must make a conscious effort to distance herself from these things.
