Hansin was born in the Icewarden's own domain, the son of the god's gift to an exiled dragon. To birth the Icewarden's child was less of a blessing than the deity anticipated: the energy sapped her, and she passed away in the snow. One of the Icewarden's loyal servants was sent to care for the hatchling. Hansin thus grew up under the wing of the Winter: a primordial spirit with a playful disposition who sought to raise Hansin to be a most formidable ally to his father. Fighting became his crux. What plagued the Icefields was his duty to dispel: the Icewarden had given him the gift of life, and in return, he would defend his father's lands. When he came of age, Hansin set off alone to battle the Shade that encroached the tundra. His utter devotion to his duty has earned him a budding reputation — though the more wounds and lonely nights he bears, the more Hansin had realizes he is encumbered within a never-ending war, and will die a soldier. After the frigid Icefields messenger captured his heart, Hansin has warmed himself with thoughts that someday he will settle down with her... and yet, the war has only raged on.
Hansin's bane is the Icewarden's reborn First Child, corrupted by the Shade and transformed into a beast of hollow, consuming sorrow. It is the titan's prophet who Hansin greets the most: a fearless centaur whose iceland heritage rivals his own, who has promised to never let him rest until the Fortress bows to her.
