Vorlante was another one of Dusk's finds at the Auction house, though she'd seen an ad up for him elsewhere.
Growing up, he was always upset that ~80 dragons all went to eat at the same times, putting a huge strain on the storage room. It was also disheartening that his food was always dried up by the time he got to it, and many of the animals and fish stunk of death rot before anyone got to eat it. He taught himself how to sort the various kinds of food and began a more civilized way to handle the problem of Feeding Time.

Specialized eaters, who only eat one type of food, get to go first, always. Faes, Wildclaws, Coatls, and Tundras got to go first. Faes and Wildclaws were first as insects and animals were most likely to scuttle away. Then went Coatls, as their food still had a chance of flopping off. Finally Tundras got to mosey on over and pick their choice of very stationary plants. After that, those who were less picky could come and get their food, starting with those who ate only two types of food, then those who ate three, and finally those who could eat any type.

It's Vorlante's job to move the food from the storage room (where all species of food cohabitated in a room that had an ecosystem of its own) to individual rooms for insects, animals, fish, and plants.
