''Blackstar died in his sleep on the 12th suncross of Juna. His face had a slight smile when his care taker, Daena, found him in the morning. I think he may have been dreaming about all the hatchlings he had successfully raised.
He had personally raised me, and I consider myself a good sample of his skills.''

Visits from Afar

The Three Merchants wrote:

''It was one of the only nights that year that it rained.
I sat at the fire miserably, hiding in the Nexus walls from the storm outside. Honesty lay sleeping next to me, and I smiled slightly. She was warm and beautiful.

My head jerked as I heard the drum bang. A visitor? The Nexus hardly ever got visitors... I guessed that it was most likely another Wanderer who was passing by and needed shelter.
I stood up carefully, trying hard not to disturb my mate, and flew through the halls to the Sanctum.

Three dragons waited underneath the Gong Tower, and my eyebrow raised.
The dragons were all female ridgebacks--none that I recognized~~---~~and looked quite similar. One stood out, however. She had pleasant yellow scales, with hints of violet. Glowing wax candles floated around her wings, lighting the group in a warm bask.

''How may I help?'' I said politely, eyes trained of the brilliant female.

She smiled in a polite cold manner. ''We are merchants from Betrayal, and are looking for rest. I am Maei. This is Omni and Poem.'' Maei explained, pointing at each other dragon in turn.

The dragon Omni glared at me fiercely, and Poem stayed quiet and still.
I cleared my throat.
''Merchants you say? If you aren't a Wanderer, I can't let you in.'' I hated to say it, but it was true. It was against the Code.

Maei flicked her tail in irritation, but my heart leaped. Her eyes were brilliant...
''I feel that your clan is hungry. We have food. I can trade for rest. ''

I considered this. Surely that was alright... after all, if they traded out here, the food would be ruined. ''Fine.''

They stayed longer then planned.
A month went by, and the longer I spent with Maei, the more enamored I became. Guilt seemed to hover over me, but Maei also seemed enchanted.
The sisters helped the clan greatly, showing us how to find foods, store meat, and make silks. The sisters became honorary members of the Wanderers.

But it was time for Maei to depart.

''Take me with you,'' I begged. Maei stared at me softly, and my heart bled. ''So I can~~---~~So I can bring back more food.''

Maei could see right through the lie, but Honesty seemed convinced with it. I headed out with the sisters towards their trading post with guilt in between my eyes.''

Tales of Origin
''Life starts and ends. The Wanderer's tale starts long ago. I am tasked to write the stories for my generation, so we do not lose sight of who we are.''
Beginnings:
When Sornith was created, dragons were said to be disconnected. There were no clans, and no order.
Years went by until a dragon named Endless decided he wanted company and peace.
He was a wanderer by heart, and sought out others like him. Wanderers.
The Wanderers expanded, growing out across Sornith. Other groups began to rise, but they were strict, and aligned. Endless decided to make a meeting place, the Nexus, where any Wanderer could rest if they'd like.
The Wanderers decided against leadership, however. The role seemed to cause strife amoung other clans, so the brotherhood developed respectful ranks.

Sadly, the dream began to fade. Dragons started to leave in search of tighter, closers clans.
The Wanderers almost went extinct.
But a handful of dragons, those who lived in the Nexus grew closer. They reorganized the clan in the time of need. They set out to find others with Wandering blood.
So the dream lives on.
