Razora was hatched beneath the stars on a night when the stars were rulers of the sky, and the moon nowhere to be seen. A new moon. A moonless night. Those stars were the first things her eyes were greeted with, a million pinpricks of light showing through her cracked shell as she broke free, and her eyes blinked up at the multitude of stars above. The second thing to greet her vision was the sight of her mother, brightly coloured who plucked her from the remains of her egg and set her down in the nest beside another egg, watched over by her father who was coloured like the night sky above them.

That was her beginning, and soon she was released into the unknown, taken in by a new clan in the Starfall Isles far from her family and her clan. It was there, in a place that they came to call the Starlight Grove, that she had her first glimpse into the knowledge that the stars carry. Woven in the constellations, the stories of the dragons, their familiars, and the Beastclans of old, were stories of the future. Stories that were as bright as the Lady of Light's scales, and as dark as the Lady of Shadow's ichor. Stories that she could read like any book shone above her, but she didn't know.

She didn't know that no one else could read them.

She asked her Guardian, Agaelium, what stories he saw when he would stare up at the stars with her one evening as they laid in the grove curled up together as he taught her about the constellations that he had learned in his travels across the Starfall Isles. He looked at her, tucked against his side beneath his wing to protect her from the chilly night, with naught but the sounds of the night around them as he taught.

"I see the stories I have told you, Raz, and yet you see more than I do," he rumbled softly, laying his head down on the ground, one eye staring at her.

"How do you know what I see?"

"It's in your eyes. You stare at the stars, and I can see you learning. What are you learning?"

"The future, the past. I saw the collapse of Queen Cedrela's hometree, when she lived with her family."

"Cedrela is a queen?"

"Not yet, but she will be. She'll lead well, even through what befalls her clan."

Agaelium's eye narrows at her, and he replies in a serious tone, "Say nothing else about the future, Iselduan. The knowledge is dangerous, even for a scryer like yourself. Knowing the future, that's for those born in the Lord of Water's domain, even if those of us born in the Lord of Arcane's domain can wield variations of their gifts."

"Sulanal..."

"I mean it, Raz, the future is not for us to know. Do not keep seeking it out, or you'll find something you can not forget."

She don't answer, but she remembers his words to her from that night on. She remembers them, and she continue on with her life in the clan, staring at the stars and trying not to see the futures and the the past woven up there of the clan, and of the dragons who live within.

In the end, not knowing what was to come proved to be far worse than knowing and trying to change it.

Agaelium is Razora's observant and very protective Sulanal, her Guardian. He has been watching over Razora since she was a young dragonet, teaching her and watching over her to make sure that she grows into a good dragon. She tends to listen to him about most things, and mimics a few of his traits, but her heart belongs to the stars that she reads every night to see if she can shift what is to come.

Although he sees the future in visions and speaks them in words, Galileo has been someone Razora has felt she is able to sit with and speak about the futures they both feel happening. Although Galileo was wary of Razora's ability to read the stars at first, he has come to accept that they are both burdened by the knowledge of what will happen. He does not approve of any of her ideas about trying to change the future, and is constantly trying to disuade her from attempting to change the future, lest she make it worse.
