U h-oh, looks like this little jellyfish wandered a little too far from his lair (204939 lopika, though 146777 Minxwolfie won him in a doors game and decided he should be a traveller), and now he's off to see the world! If ever you feel the urge to exalt, he'd really appreciate it if you could just return him home instead, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here.

Travels 1-4

Story

The gardener. Jellydew is always up for new adventures in search of new gardening knowledge. He wants to learn all there is about plants and how to care for them, and he always carries his gardening tools with him...

Jellydew soon found himself in the Tangled Woods. Luckily, a rather large clan of dragons found him carefully examining a plant to see if it was edible. They took him to their lair, where he stayed, but not for long. The twisted, and darkness stained plants pulled and poked at him as he walked around, and the darkness made him choke. Though he was sincerely grateful to the shadow clan for letting him stay, he decided he had to move on. Saying a heartfelt goodbye, Jellydew flew away from the den, seeking his next adventure.

Jellydew spent some time in Vixen's Clan since the majority of the residents were Tundras and Pearlcatchers. That meant a LOT of plant food, and thus lots to observe and research. They didn't mind him poking around in their food stores as long as he cleared the way during dinner time. He taught them a lot about the plants they had been eating and they were grateful. Eventually, he decided he'd spent enough time in the Focal Point and wanted new scenery. So he left.

After some time traveling around through different elemental areas he ended up at the Pillar of the World. He was looking at the scarce amount of plants that lived in the area, despite there not being much variety he found the plants interesting.

Out of nowhere a voice started talking to him, "Hello there! What're you doing?"

Jellydew turned around and saw a very green Imperial. "I'm just looking around at the plants in this area, I'm quite fond of everything that involves them. What about you?"

"Oh", the Imperial said and leaned back a bit. "I'm just out gathering some food for my lair, would you like to come visit? We have quite a few rare plants that we've gotten from gathering if you'd like to take a look at them!"

Jellydew agreed to go with the Imperial and take a look at what interesting plants they might've gotten.

After staying for some days in the earth lair Jellydew decided to move on. He was given some unusual plants to take with him on his journey. Some samples that he might have good use of when he returns back home.

Travels 5-8

Jellydew was shocked to find that there were no gardeners in the clan of High Valley, despite their larger size and access to an abundance of sunshine. That was until a grouchy and threatening looking Pearlcatcher named Vel approached him as he was settling in to sleep in the traveler's lair.

"Teach me how to grow things. Now. Please. I'd be ever so grateful." Jellydew had heard rumours of Vel when he was asking about other Pearlcatchers in the clan, and had been warned of her honeyed words and sharp tongue. This seemed like neither, like she was vastly uncomfortable. Jellydew nevertheless decided to share his knowledge with the Plague born dragon, despite what he felt were her natural leanings.

Weeks went by and Jellydew and Vel grew various varieties of plants together; his for research and hers of a simple variety for food or just "to make my lair nicer". The obsidian dragonness would chase away anyone that tried to interrupt them.

Upon the harvest of the first of Vel's plants and the conclusion of Jellydew's research in High Valley, Vel presented the soft hearted Pearlcatcher with a gift, explaining that she had commissioned the clan's apparel maker Ravyn to make it. She also admitted that although it was clan tradition to give something to a traveler that had left something behind (some of the plants grown for research and some seeds), she would have given him a gift regardless, "to repay my debts, as a Plagueling would never owe herself to anyone... in addition to my substantial fondness."

Smiling, Jellydew departed for his next adventure.

Upon somehow ending up in one of his home lairs again, Jellydew decided to take a break from travelling, and show everyone all his new research that he has gathered throughout these past few travels. "Oh no, but don't you worry about me!" Jellydew said to the rest of the dragons, "I'll be back on the road again soon!".

Jellydew landed in his first lightning lair. He was estatic (get it, static?) To learn about the plants that grew in lightning. He was amazed at how well they took to electricity. However, after a few jolts and electrocutions, he decided these plants were hurtful and it was time to move on.

The lair was packed with dragons of all kinds, so crowded there was no room to garden. The newly adult hatchlings were chattering amongst themselves, but their nervous excitement was overwhelming and he shook his head and tried to find a bit more wing room. His precious plants were gone and he had no memory of how he came to this place. This wrong place. The plants were like none he'd ever seen, twisted and with such clear evidence of disease and decay he hesitated to touch them. A calm, green Wildclaw so verdant she was shockingly out of place interrupted his fascinated revulsion. "There will be more room in a bit, but we may or may not be here to enjoy it. I have heard there is a clash for dominance going on and we are to be evaluated and trained for the Plaguemother. That may be preferable to risking disease by staying here." The Wyrmwound made an ominous bubbling noise loud enough to stop even the new adults from talking. The silence made her question carry across the lair "How did you get here? Tell me about yourself."

A few days went by with dragons coming and going never to be seen again, but Jellydew was not taken for training. Then a serious looking Coatl with a clipboard called his name and that of a young Mirror. They were off. The green Wildclaw watched him go with a slight nod, she'd been nice to him, but had not shared much about herself. He wished he'd pushed more, but he'd gotten distracted examing fungus.

He had no more time think. The Coatl was an amazing fighter, but Jellydew had to keep his wits about him to avoid being damaged. During their second rest break a serious looking Guardian pulled him from the group. "Come with me to the Crossroads. You are going home."

Travels 9-12

Somehow, Jellydew managed to escape before being sent back home, flying as fast as he could to find shelter before someone came looking for him. He didn't look where he was flying and crash landed into some glimmering trees; he had reached the Star Wood strand. When he came to, he was awestruck by the beauty of a young ridgeback with fiery wings and scales like a river's gleam. She introduced herself as Pyris, official Fire rep of her home clan called Thunder-Arrow. With her help and that of other dragons waiting to aid him, Jellydew was healed and introduced to their matriarch.

After happily enjoying his time here, starting a family with Pyris, and learning about the clan itself, Jellydew finally decided to take to the sky once more. He bid farewell to his daughters Sakura and Lotus, and to Pyris, promising to write them in the near future...

After awakaning from a long nap, Jelly blink his eyes in wonder at his strange surroundings. A wispy impiral named Aerith bustled in the room and wispers "you are in the Chaos Core smack dap in the middle of Plague " then giggles and sits down beside him.

Aerith says, you know, I see you had some lovely eggs in your travels, I bet you got pampered at all those lairs for your service?! Jelly agrees that he was in fact well fed and pampered *chuckles*. Well, you can forget about that lush life says Aerith, this is a battling clan, we train and we treasure hunt, so you are going to have to get rid of that spare belly from all that excess food and work to earn your keep!

Jelly just stared at her in confusion while she started pulling out various weapons from from the closet and tossing them down on the bed. As thus his training began.

After a few days of hard work, he noticed his belly was flat again, and his arms and legs had started to take on the look of chisled marble. Right about then, the call came in to go hunting for treasure in the muks of plague. On his travels, he learned many new techniques, but couldnt seem to keep his tail out of the way, thus, the reason for his Maroon Tail Wrap covering his wounds. On the way home, the group ran into a pac of wild scavangers, after beating back the hoard, he discovered a chest containg a Accent: Scroll of Pell, which he quickly put on to upgrade his armour.

Jellydew was elated to finally be accepted as part of the clan, and was planning to celebrate with Aerith, however, when he got back to the lair, Aerith was waiting for him with a sealed letter and a sad expression.

"You have been called home my dear, we will miss you, but look forward to seeing you again soon!"

Jellydew was saddened by the fact that he had to stop travelling for a while, but Altair cheered him up by letting him raid the hoard for any plants that interested him. There were a lot of plants that interested him.

Jellydew found himself in the Shadow Territory. The Clan's matriarch said that they had no such thing as a gardener, as they'd never had any fertile land to till. This shocked the young Pearlcatcher, and as such he insisted that he teach the clan how to farm before heading off again.

Travels 13-16

It was a mistake, Jellydew coming across the Twisting Crescendo. The infamous storm sucked him in, and for moments on end he believed he was a goner, as the vicious winds whipped him around. Plant knowledge did not equal flight knowledge, and though he was of the Wind element, he'd never really traversed winds such as these. However, help tends to come in strange forms, and he was snatched from the whirling winds like a bird from the sky.

His savior was a red and gold warrior, named Ailedun, who happened to be traversing the dangerous winds when he'd heard what sounded suspiciously like a scream. After allowing the Pearlcatcher to rest from the frightening ordeal (and maybe wondering how he'd kept ahold of all his things), he brought the blue and green dragon to his clan, Aerial Gust.

He was presented with a Green Aviator Scarf and Tarnished Steel Tail Cuffs upon arriving, the latter of which he used to improve his armor, and the former as a way to keep warm. He was also presented with many new plants to choose from, and, in thanks, he taught the clan skills for farming and growing plants he'd learned in his travels.

After a while, he decided he'd spent enough time there, and, pleased with how the clan was improving, said his farewells.
