E A R L Y L I F E

Where Astarr had lived, it was tiring. Not physically so, but mentally and emotionally. He was the result of a forced breeding between two dragons who cared nothing for each other. Even though both his parents cared for his sister and him, they argued constantly about who's responsibility it was to feed and clothe them. They rewarded their hatchlings with gifts each grander than the next all the while glaring at their mate.

As soon as he was able to, Astarr took the opportunity to leave. He left his sister to herself- something he would regret later. When he came back later to retrieve her, he discovered to his horrer that she had left shortly after his departure to mate with the first dragon who offered her a home. He had pleaded for her to leave with him but she had refused. Her new clan couldn't take enough care for her and shortly after her first nest, she starved.

M A T E

He was a young dragon when he first met his mate. She was a couple of days old and small enough to ride on his back for fun. She'd arrived on the waves, carried there away from her clan. He hadn't thought of her at first as a mate, but as a replacement for his lost sister.

It wasn't until later, when Cortia was a young dragon, that she confessed her feelings towards him. He had been surprised at first, but it wasn't difficult to turn his brotherly affection into the one that only mates shared.

H A T C H L I N G S

Astarr has always encouraged for hatchlings to follow their dreams. He never emphasizes anything to them aside from freedom to follow their hearts. He doesn't want them to have the same regrets he had with his sister, though he never tells them so.

Hatchlings born from him are free spirited have quite a mild temperament. Having a Magician for a father means that they know strange tips and tricks to appease their mates. They've learned to care for themselves and find joy in the smallest of things. His hatchlings make pleasant lair mates and affectionate parents.
