Malice

For most of her life Malice only knew her pack; a large pack of Mirrors. She was the only child to 2 high ranking pack members, and was named in the hopes she would be fierce with no mercy to her opponents.
She however hesitates during a training session with the other pups, and is told that there is no room for mercy, and that the weak are thrown into the Wymwound.
Because of this she forces herself to be fiercer.
She then gets her full name; Malice FierceClaw.

However doubts about the mentality her pack holds start to creep back, and she sneaks off in the middle of the night. She meets an elder Mirror, one of the Plaguebringer's exalted, and is told that there are other ways to be strong, not just using your claws.

She then goes back to her pack, and begins showing more mercy. This however, catches the attention of the pack leader, Screech SharpTail. Soon Malice is ambushed by Screech, and attacked by her former family. She's badly scarred, her wings and fins littered with rips, she's then stripped of her name (now Malice NoPack, or something along those lines), and is then exiled.

She scrapes by on her own, until she sees a small clan in the distance while hunting. She follows them for a while, before offering to help them around the Scarred Boneyard. Soon enough, she's offered a place in the clan and accepts.
When she joins, she gives herself a new name; Malice SwiftTalon.

Time passes, and the once small clan grows bigger. By this time, she was made the clan's second in command, because in the clan leader's (Shadow) words; 'She wouldn't trust anyone else.'

Soon different members of the clans seeming begin taking mates, which causes Malice to panic slightly. At the same time Dusty, a dragon Malice has never seen before - but based on Shadow & Saryth's (one of the dragons she first saw when she found the clan) reactions that he must have been a close friend - rejoins the clan.

Malice learns of their history from Saryth, that they were the leaders of the clan when they were located in the Shadow territories, and were once mates before Dusty left to serve the Shadowbinder and go on a sort of soul-searching journey. Someone else makes a remark that they might end up getting together again, which causes Malice to feel sick.

She later tries to figure out what about that made her feel like that, and soon comes to the conclusion that not only did the idea of Shadow being in a relationship hurt her, but that she had a crush on the dark spiral. She tries to convince herself that that cant be the case, that she should be interested in this male clanmate, that her clanmates wouldn't be supportive (not remembering that one of her best friends, Emerald, is mated to another female nocturne. She literally forgets that her best friend is also gay).
Soon she reluctantly accepts that yes, she has a big ol' crush on Shadow, but that she clearly wouldn't feel the same way, and carefully confides in Saryth about this.

Now, Saryth had been watching both Malice & Shadow, as well as how Dusty & Shadow interacted. He noticed how neither Shadow nor Dusty had shown any romantic interest into each other, and how both Malice and Shadow had pined over the other many times.
And then Malice decided to confide in him. He thanked her for trusting him with this info. He then talked to Dusty, asking;

Saryth: 'How do I get two dragons who are obviously interested in each other to get together?

Dusty: 'Are you talking about Shadow and that Mirror, uh.. Malice?'

Saryth: 'They're that obvious, aren't they?'



They then find out from the rest of the clan that yes, these two hopeless lovebirds are so damn obvious in their pining. They decide to give the two a little while to see if they confess without help, otherwise they'll have to take drastic measures.

Time passes, and they still haven't confessed. If anything, their pining has gotten worse. Saryth tries to nudge Malice in the right direction, but soon the entire clan is tired of waiting, and seclude the two in one of the empty dens, telling them that 'they'll let them leave once they spill their feelings.'

The two stay silent for a while, before a slightly flustered Shadow confesses, stating that its okay if she doesn't feel the same - when Malice cuts her off, blurting out a very loud 'I LIKE YOU TOO-'
The two pause, staring at each other, before they burst into laughter, while saying a few things in between laughs like 'Gods, were we both that clueless?'
