Marcellus, Veteran of the 8th Legion I am now too broken to march, too old to protect. My heart feels heavier than any armor, my gladius no longer fit to strike and my body is cursed.

The splattered ink upon parchment shows how the old Dragon trembled in attempts to write and now the Quill is laid to rest, his soul wishing to follow suite.

Once a vibrant, intelligent hatchling with all the world at it's claws. Trained in combat from a young age by a group of Guardian's, he was an Imperial unafraid of getting scales and wing dirty. As he aged, Marcellus was given a Charge to protect and even found a mate, Flavia. He adored the female, showered her in gifts in an attempt to impress..

He failed.

Just how he failed to protect her..

As the light of the candle flickered in his eyes, despair, sadness and a dull shine captured the dancing flames attention. Lids were heavy as they fell, long claws stretched then relaxed before the large, scarred body settled to the floor. Dust clouds rose with the finality of this action, wanting nothing more than to remain prone and unwilling as the depression within him threatened to take a hold.

'I am forsaken' He wailed, forlornly and nosed into the ground as he allowed sleep to wrap it's warm protective tendrils over, if only then the pain would end when nothing more than nightmares would welcome him..."
