The oldest of the Vale clan, Dawnthorn is a natural leader. Previously a soldier for Icewarden, Dawnthorn left his service after a long battle with an Emperor, and set off to form his own clan. Though he still retains his loyalty to his deity, he was born on a windy open plain, and found that he could ignore his need for a home and a family no longer. He bore the scars for his service and felt that he had given his time. This was owed to him.

His mate, Larimar, helped scout their territory and pull in their band of riff raff dragons. Yet Larimar, once their clan was established, revealed herself to be lazy and obsessed with the material. In the end, she was overthrown by Hira. Dawnthorn and Hira now rule peacefully side by side, and their clan is known for taking on any and all dragons, regardless of species or past.

Dawnthorn is a quiet and reserved leader, known for ruling with military precision. He demands perfection from every dragon, even young hatchlings. Luckily, his command is tempered by his lovely and fair mate, Hira.

Dawnthorn has a particular weakness for fish, and has been known to take playful bribes from his clan in order to forgive arguments or curry favor. His attire is plain and efficient, and though he little understands some dragon's needs to dress up, he tolerates it as best he can. Dante still enjoys torturing his leader, however, by parading his newest wares from distant lands.

He can be distant and aloof at times, but protects his clan fiercely.
