"May your choices reflect your hopes, not your fears."
CHARGE
The Challenger

Don't challenge the challenger. Charge was born to a very small clan in the Frigid Floes so small that there was in fact only three members. They ignored her the best that they could. A nuisance they called her. Charge wasn't given the love she needed by them and the frigid temperature began to sink deep into her heart and grow like small frozen knives across her skin. This lack of love caused Charge to become distant and cruel. Bodies of small animals began showing up around the clan's ice float and the freezing water surrounding it ran red. The clan was terrified, but Charge merely laughed. The clan waited for the moment she flew off to bring her next "trophy" home. Less than a day later they got their chance and they flew as far away from their blood stained ice float as possible. This was the day they left her behind. Charge was enraged when she got back. She tore through everything they had left behind, but they had left no clues as to where they went. Charge vowed revenge on them.

Day after day and month after month Charge trained herself in the art of killing and soon she became unstoppable. Within the first few months, Charge had grown an audience that were both astonished and horrified by her skill. One would even give her roses. On one of these occasions after the crowd had cleared a stranger approached her. He introduced himself as Lethe and told her that he'd be willing to further her skills if she would fight for him. Amused by his offer Charge accepted and together they flew off to the Sea of a Thousand Currents where he had an arena. All it took was a few short months for her skills to surpass his and he gave her a grinding stone as a gift for her matches. With the stone she sharpened her teeth to needles and gave her claws and spines a razor sharp edge. It was finally time for her first match.

"The rules of this match are simple; kill or be killed. There is no surrendering and absolutely no escaping. Welcome to the crypt." Charge was ready before the gate flew opened. Her opponent stood before her with scars marking his otherwise smooth face and bloodlust flickered through his eyes as Charge launched herself into the arena. "Ready yourselves dragons. Now fight!" The male charged at her tearing at her underbelly and her inner legs. Charge believed his rather plain tactic was a disadvantage. When he came to attack her again she clawed at his face, drawing deep goudges above his eyes, temporarily blinding him. That was all the time she needed. Without a second of hesitation she bit savagely into his neck and peeled back layers upon layers of the soft flesh that it was made of. With a crooked bloodstained smile she watched as the life drained from his eyes. "Charge wins!!" the announcer screamed," You will find your reward in your room." She was greeted with cheers and a covering of white rose petals. One could get used to a life like this.

Many months of arena fighting passed and Charge became incredibly profitable for Lethe, but he wanted more. He took Charge as his mate and she bore him six children, but afterwards Charge wanted nothing of it. When her last child was born she pushed her into exaltion in front of his murderous eyes. Lethe became enraged and came at her, but Charge was prepared for his attack. She tore her claws down his side and bit savagly at his throat, just as he had taught her, before throwing him off herself. Soon after, when he didn't get up, Charge found herself running from the only battle that she would ever refuse to demand payment for. She wanted Lethe to know the pain of having nothing left to live for. Quickly she grabbed her few possessions and flew as far away from the arena as possible. She soon felt eyes on her. The dragon who always gave her flower petals seemed to be following as she flew.

After a long flight Charge found herself on the edge of the Mirrorlight Promenade with the strange rose dragon. "Why do you always follow me?" The rose dragon replied with an odd emotion in her voice "Because I love you. I don't know why, but I do." Charge was taken aback by her words. How could this dragon love her? She looked at her face and saw the honesty in her words. This was the dragon who always gave her gifts, the dragon who was always there. Why hadn't she noticed her before? "What is your name flower girl?" "My name is Grace," Was her reply. The name suited her well. Very well. Charge shifted closer to Grace, and took her all in. "I think I like you too..." Charge couldn't believe that she said it, the words just slipped off her tongue, but something about them felt right. Charge watched as Grace move closer to her and felt her tail wrap around her own. Together they watched the sun sink under the horizon, and something inside Charge began to melt. Days later a dragon approached the two and introduced itself as Oracle the leader of a fairly mysterious clan. Oracle explained to Charge that she had a vision about this meeting and she then proceeded to welcome Charge to the clan with just one small rule. No tormenting other clan members, but what Oracle doesn't know wont hurt her right? Grace would probably keep her in line. Charge never did and never would get the revenge she sought, but she did get a home, and a lover that would eventually melt a part of her very frozen heart.
