Dolphin

Dolphin was a Nature dragon, adopted into a smaller community of Water dragons on the outskirts of the underwater empire. His parents unknown, he was found as an egg just inside the great Sea - sinking to the bottom, and at risk of drowning if it was not quickly taken into care. The compassionate Guardian couple who found it, seeing no sign of the parents, saw no choice but to take it under their own wings. Dolphin was given a Water name like any dragon born into the undersea realm, and was given teaching in the ways, histories, and traditions of their community, raised as one of their own.

But as the dragon neared young adulthood, he began to consider his origins. His eyes were deep green - not dark blue like the dragons he had for so long called family. Though his adoptive parents had never tried to hide his past from him, Dolphin knew he was an outsider - and though for so long it hadn't bothered him, as the cusp of adulthood approached, the outlander grew distraught with his life in the underwater city. His adoptive family could only watch in sadness as he rejected the life they had created for him, packing away all his heirlooms and finery as he left the water and set foot on shore for the first time in his life...with no intention of ever looking back.

However, after so long spent searching, eventually alighting in a scattered Light clan after finding no trace of his true family, the dragon dared to look again at the attire he had packed away when he left home. Filled with regret, and realizing in his newfound maturity how much he had hurt the ones who loved him enough to let him leave, he made up his mind. Fully embracing his background as a Water dragon, he donned the markings and garb of his hometown in the Sea once more.

Dolphin, after many long years of being in Trick's Light clan, spoke out and began to spread the word of his home. With the help of one of the clan's Water familiars, a goblin of the Tidelord himself, he set to work. Grabbing the attention of the lower- and mid-ranking dragons alike, Dolphin rallied their interest and began to push for a migration to the great Sea of the Tidelord. Teaching the dragons of Trick's clan about Water's deep, mysterious, and noble history, they became enamored and fascinated with the idea. Once the warriors Ahsoka and Cinderdust were convinced of the worth of his message, and Seafellow gained word of the proposal, Trick's decision had pretty much been made for her.

To Dolphin's great delight, the clan would be moving to Water.

The children of the clan, thrilled by the idea of living underwater, began modeling their stories and play around the concept. The younger adults eagerly prepared themselves for the move, excited to see and experience the possibilities this new life could bring. The older dragons enjoyed the prospect of learning about a new culture, and some of them looked forward to the relief living underwater could give to their aging joints.

But all was not to be.

During the Flameforger's Festival of 2017, Dolphin's plan met an unexpected end. The clan had hesitated for several months on their decision, the leaders suddenly gaining cold feet. Then when the annual Fire festival began, one of the sovereign warriors of the clan, Cinderdust, expressed a desire to return to her ancestral home. The word of one of the highest-ranking and well-respected dragons in the clan held more influence than Dolphin ever could in his current state, and before he knew it, plans were changed. After everything he'd toiled for, it was nothing less than a slap to Dolphin's face.

APRIL 2, 2018: Redhawk, having grown increasingly distant from him after their confrontation [see Redhawk's bio], takes up care of the clan's symbol, the phoenix. Dolphins perceives this as yet another blatant slap to the face. She is now, officially, taking their side. The rift widens.

Once again, Dolphin finds himself mourning what's been lost.
