Gazket

The brands have less of a religious element, and are more of the result of neurotic tics and Gazket's vague ideas of trying to make himself more desirable and valuable (as his clan manufactured and prized robotic constructs and cyborgs, more so than flesh-and-blood dragons). As a result, the marks started out small, crude and messy, but overtime became more sophisticated and elaborate as Gazket gained skill. They may have come from a negative place, but eventually became an artistic outlet in an environment with very little culture or traditional creativity.

The culture in his clan was to have a shaved head, but once he left the clan he didn't really have the discipline to keep up the shaving regime. As a result he sort of has a buzzcut/mohawk thing going on, partly style, partly hygiene (which is why his clan did it), and partly neglect.
