Empire of Death: Clan of Death
|
Apollyon was born in the bitter cold Snowsquall Tundra. As a hatchling he'd constantly try picking fights with other young dragons or familiars in his birth clan. Even his two siblings weren't safe from his aggressive actions, which were often followed by swift punishments from his parents. But like his cold home, his heart was equally as cold. He never felt much attachment to other dragons and as he grew up less and less dragons would interact with him. Apollyon didn't mind the lack of friends however, as he soon left- taken out of the clan for his actions despite him stating it was his own choice- and was given to the Clan of Death in hopes they could make him stronger- or as his birth clan would say; 'hoping the Plague clan could curb his temper'.
He wasn't exactly thrilled about the abandonment, even if he claimed to have gone by his own choice. However, Apollyon thrived in his new home and grew into a strong young dragon. His clan made him into a warrior and taught him how to fight... Oh how he enjoyed learning how to fight. The clan was still young too however and the leader, Cerberus, soon grew cautious about how strong the ice dragon was growing. It was obvious the guardian thought Apollyon would challenge him for the title of leader. He had to admit, being a leader would make him the strongest dragon in the clan... but at the cost of holding the responsibility of keeping the entire clan together. He wasn't about to do all of that work. As time went on Apollyon gained the reputation of being demon-like; his white eyes, red scales, and the fact his name meant destroyer were only part of the reasoning while his long claws that could easily tear through his enemies sealed the deal. Of course, now that he'd matured, he never tries to injure his clanmate... even if some get under his scales at times... but he isn't afraid to bare his sharp teeth at annoying hatchlings if they get too close to him. He never understood why any dragon would want to have a nest of them until he finally met a nocturne who joined the clan. |
Sardonyx wasn't like other nocturnes, which immediately drew attention to her. Even Apollyon couldn't stop his curiosity from sparking when he met her. It did take a while for the two to actually become mates; he wanted nothing to get in the way of his training. But in the end the red scaled nocturne won over his heart, although he'd never admit to saying he cared for her to other dragons. His mate didn't seem to mind. If anything, the fact he only showed any sort of affection towards her when they were away from other dragons or out of hearing range seemed to make their relationship even more special to her. Apollyon didn't quite understand why but he naturally shrugged it off; he wouldn't have changed it even if she had been unhappy with his actions. Apollyon eventually did begin having nests with his mate after long seasons of convincing. His agreement was based on the rule that his training was never interrupted, which actually wasn't too difficult to follow. The hatchery caretakers did most of the watching when the nests hatched, leaving both of them to go about their duties in the clan, and Sardonyx was there for them when she wasn't busy. He would visit on rare occasions but at the end of the day, Apollyon was only concerned with himself and growing in power. He wanted to be the best warrior in the clan- possibly part of the Royal Guard someday- and nothing would hold him back from that goal. He has taken vague interest in a new nocturne named Carnelian, as she reminds him of his mate. However Apollyon wouldn't consider her a friend and with her questions about Sardonyx finds her more of a pest at times. The imperial has snapped at her on several occasions despite humoring her from time to time; he wasn't here to make friends. Over time, it seemed she got the message and bothered him less, leaving Apollyon with more time to focus on his duties and training. |
