Depite coatl dragons hailing from the Ashfallwaste, Razortail was born in the exact opposite place; the Southern Icefield. His mother being a wildclaw, it wasn't any surprise that this happened- though the family did move to the Ashfallwaste eventually. Razortail was always curious about his ice magic and found it ironic that he was growing up in Fire. Of course, living there was the reasonable thing to do. There was always plenty of treasure for supplies and food from the natural resources, though he was often experimenting with using his magic on some of the more... fiery ones... just to see what would happen. It often resulted in some form of explosion or steam. Once, he'd even decided to see what a glowing pocket mouse tasted like... that ended oddly for the young, now slightly glowing, dragon.
As he grew older, Razortail refined his experiments to a more serious goal. He wished to see how different magical elements worked when combined with items, objects, and even familiars or dragons that hailed from other flights. Some results were of course disappointing and did nothing while others created beautiful displays of color and power. He moved away from his birth family to search for more things and ended up in Plague- a flight near the center of Sornieth, which made it a good choice to go- where he joined the Clan of Death. They were glad to accept him as a mage in their clan and some of the other mages even aided him in his experiments. Razortail even dabbled in cooking with his magic, deeming it important if anything ever happened that might require it. In turn he became a help to the seer Priestess when sacrificial celebrations occurred and a feast was in order. Other side projects he worked on from time to time included testing out magical energies at different times of the year, different seasons, and with the solstices. Occasionally he works to see if different eyes dragons have have anything to do with their magical abilities but so far the results have been inconclusive. |

He became mates with an imperial named Raven after the alchemist joined the clan. She liked to experiment with potions and cauldrons similarly to how he liked to experiment with magic. It seemed like a perfect duo... except his mate still tended to blow stuff up and didn't always take what she did as seriously as Razortail did- not to mention her goals weren't always realistic if she even had one. However the duo still got along quite well when they worked together and Razortail warmed up to his larger mate's quirks quickly and would occasionally set aside his own work to help with hers. Razortail is a powerful mage and fierce in battle when he has to be though, despite his lack of experience in the matter. He will fight to defend his mate and clan with everything he's learned through his experiments and reasoning to come up with the best way to attack the enemy. Not many in the clan have ever seen him in an actual fight but those who've seen him practicing with his magic can guess the enemy should challenge him with caution less they wish to be frozen or worse if he teamed up with the other mages. After the loss of his mate, he became further obsessed with improving his spells. Razortail believes if he'd been stronger, that he could've prevented the accident that took her life. Most of his days are spent reading up on new spells or practicing to get stronger. Overtime, the grief faded along with the self-blame. However, the coatl continues to make sure he can better protect his clanmates. When asked if he's okay by colleagues, he insists that this loss has only made him stronger. |
