Sunflame hatched with a curse upon his egg-- he emerged from the egg covered in crystals. Ayala has been working for months to find a counter-curse, with the assistance of Stardust (and Antares, who visits the clan regularly). In the meantime, Sunflame has joined Brigand as a pirate wannabe. He tends to stick close to Ayala when she's home, and wanders around outside the lair to learn Shadow magic from numerous sources when she's away. He enjoys finding ways to incorporate concepts from other types of magic into his practices. And he does enjoy a good bit of actual "pirating", usually amounting to stealing odds and ends from ships that pass by the Starfall Isles, or any other region he may be visiting.
Sunflame has picked up quite a lot of wisdom in his travels and likes to give advice to others, dispensing it freely to anyone who asks for it or seems like they need it. He's also not above using his curse to get sympathy or snuggles from pretty dragons, especially Skydancers.
