WINTER
GUARDIAN one | icy | lad "tHe CoLd ReClaiMs" - icedad ice sculpture dragon official lore Most Ice Sculptures are dragons who had previously been frozen as prisoners eons ago by the Icewarden himself. Others are simply dragons who had gotten lost in the highest peaks of the Cloudscape Crags and eventually froze to death. As the time had passed, the cold slowly sucked away all life and all color from the victims, replacing their flesh with ice and forming them into what they are today--preserved for eternity as beautiful sculptures of pure ice. These icy prisoners are excavated and reanimated to become Ice Sculptures, often gifted by the Icewarden himself to clans who have shown eternal allegiance to the God of the Southern Icefields. There have been cases, however, of Ice Sculptures becoming reanimated due to some stray magics of some over-eager dragon over at the Starfall Isles, though... These cases are slightly more rare, however. Once the Ice Sculpture has been reanimated, they will watch over their assigned clan with unwavering loyalty. Any order given by the Clan’s leader will be followed through with utmost accuracy and efficiency. Ice Sculptures, if positioned outside of a clan’s lair as a guard, will remain completely still and only their eyes will move, gazing around at the world around them for any signs of danger. Any foreign movement will cause them to go on an alert mode, and any foreigner or possible intruder will immediately be apprehended. If deemed a threat to the clan’s livelihood, the Ice Sculpture will viciously attack the intruder unless ordered to stop by the Clan’s leader. If this foreigner is deemed a non-threat, they will return to their watching position and simply continue to gaze, gaze out into the rolling fields, the tundras, or the white sheets of snow before them--protecting their clan for eternity. |

» Origins «
A few millennia prior, the grounds on which Clan Eire reside were suspiciously barren, even for the Southern Icefield. The soil was hard as stone, preventing any nomadic tribes from setting up on it. It was cold as the Fortress of Ends despite the modest amount of sun the Tundra typically got. Neighboring clans would say that there was a palpable shadow that encased the grounds, leaving travelers who wandered onto the territory with an uneasy feeling. Those who slept on the grounds recounted having horrifying nightmares that would haunt them even into their waking hours. The reason for this was the ancient residents of the Tundra. Before recorded time, a group of individuals practiced a since-lost form of dark magic that polluted the land indeterminately. This included curses, necromancy, plague magic that fed the grounds with powerful and saturated magic. While the practice was at its prime, it wasn't uncommon to see tendrils of dead air leaking out of cracks in the soil. After the cult died off, visitors to the territory swore the ground was a portal to Hell itself, what with the amount of dead magic escaping daily. It wasn't until the Icewarden, himself, took notice of the upset that anything was done. The constant leaking of dark magic into the atmosphere was disrupting the neighboring clans as well as interfering with the magic fields in place around the Icefield. He resolved to change this through a proxy of his own creation. Out of his own pool of magic, he sculpted an agent of ice into being. She was malleable and acquiescent: everything a pawn should be. He conferred unto her the ruling power of the polluted land, giving her the power of purification at the expense of an un-marred soul. From there, Clan Eire was born. The Icewarden's proxy, Lucia'eire, lived the life of a normal overlord, slowly accumulating a company of dragons to populate the land and ensuring alliances that would aid in their growth. For many years, she played the part of the competent ruler and spread their influence throughout the Southern Icefield, utilizing all of the dragons she had recruited along the way. It wasn't until a thousand years into her ruling that she started to feel the effects of her purpose coming to fruition. As dark magic continued to enter her being to be nullified, she found herself loosing her grasp. Her emotions were dampened and her drive was minimized. A queen without resolve or ambition was not fit to rule Clan Eire, so she and her small group of advisors started looking for a solution. Eventually, Ion, a princess from Shadow, was introduced.
