Biography

Mysterious / Helpful / Kind
Many travelers that find themselves wandering through the Ghostlight Ruins would be doomed to walk an eternity on the winding paths without a helpful guide to lead them out of the tangled mess. This is due to the ghosts that inhabit the Ruins playing tricks on their eyes, making them see things that do not exist. The ghosts are lonely and desire new allies to accompany them as they are cursed to walk the winding paths for all of eternity, never to find a way out.

Lacertus too found herself tangled in the Ghostlight Ruins; she was only a hatchling when she wandered too far from the safety of her nest. She would perish within a few days one would think, but she didn't. She was different and what others considered to be a debilitating weakness turned out to be her greatest strength. She had been born blind and the ghosts were not able to trick her into seeing things that were not there.

She grew in the company of ghosts, eventually learning all of the paths and being able to easily navigate the Ruins. Lacertus knew the textures of the different pathways and she could even tell which part of the Ruins she was in by the sounds of the disgruntled spirits that inhabited the land. She even found a friend in a Disoriented Spirit, and discovered that she found joy in giving directions and helping others find their way in the darkness.

Now whenever you get lost in the Ghostlight Ruins, be sure to be on the look out for a Veilspun whose scales are whiter than newly fallen snow. She is kind, so don't be afraid to approach her. For a small fee she will lead you out of the Ruins without issue. You have no money, you say? No worries, Lacertus has no need for such a thing. A funny joke, a piece of beautiful fabric, an interesting trinket or even a story is enough for her.
