Biography

This is my personal OC dragon.

So many times she'd planned for this moment, imagined it in her minds eye the way it would pan out, the saccharine sweet taste of victory just barely teasing her tongue, but she'd never imagined how she would feel. It were as if, for the moment, she'd forgotten how to feel anything at all. The world around her seemed dim, sounds dulled, colors faded and she barely recognized the eerie thud made by the sound of her own arms dropping the creature that had been locked in her grip, between her teeth. Turning her forest gaze downward, it all came rushing back. Her fingers were hot, sticky. Blood coated her fur up to the elbow, and she could taste it, heavy and metallic in her mouth. Any other time, she would have savored it, but she crinkled her nose and turned her maw to spit, further marring the elegant marble floor with crimson. The fallen Queen's blood was not worthy enough to even please a vampire's pallet now that she'd fallen. The fact was becoming more cemented into her head now, more tangible to her frazzled mind, full of static. The Queen had fallen, her plan had worked. Eva looked down at her hands, warped into the abominable shape of a werewolf's claws before her gaze trailed past them to the broken body of the other woman. The detestable creature was crumpled now, dead weight sprawled across the marble. Her usual bronze skin was bloody, her lower half covered in half-formed golden scales. Inky raven colored hair was wet with blood and hid the bulky base of wicked horns that had begun to grow from her skull just before her death. The Queen's face was, much to Eva's ire, still beautiful, even spattered with blood. The heavy golden jewelry that hung across her face and covered her fingers, a symbol of her station, glimmered enticingly through the growing pool of crimson. A small part of her noted that the garish adornments would need to be retrieved; perhaps she could have it melted down and made into something better suited to her tastes.

The werewolf's ponderings were quickly interrupted by a hand pressed into her back, and she turned her snarling face to the one who dared intrude upon her personal space. She was met with a familiar visage; Delano's golden eyes were sly and his smirk as wide as she'd ever seen it. The red drake was not doing much to hide his obvious pleasure over the outcome, but it was far too late for the fallen Queen to root out her betrayers now. The Dragon Queen had risen to the bait of the Lupine usurper. Eva had been a thorn in Thalestris' side for the better part of a century, and the other woman had been all too eager to see their rivalry end. Her haste had been her downfall.

"My Queen, your new council awaits you." her insider crooned, hand pressing more insistently into her back. Eva glanced up from the broken form of the former Queen and looked up at the alarmed gazes of the party in question. They all looked human for the moment, elegantly dressed in silks and encrusted with the same garish gold finery that graced their fallen matriarch. None of them dared to step forward to avenge Thalestris; the sight of how fast Eva had been able to dispatch the riled queen before she could take her full form was enough to cow them into obedience. It helped that half the court in attendance had been bought or otherwise persuaded by the usurping werewolf Alpha into joining her cause. Suddenly the weight of victory pressed down on her shoulders, and she felt the burly form of her inner beast receding. Blond fur bled away to fair skin, and Eva stepped over the body of the fallen, tossing her unnatural red hair over her shoulder as she did. Delano began speaking draconic behind her, addressing the growing crowd; his generals flanked her, and she was acutely aware of their foreboding presence as she passed through the small opening in the crowd of gathered council folk.
They avoided her gaze and angled their heads pointedly away, shamed by the sight of her nudity, but refusing to be the ones punished by not acknowledging her rise.

"Thalestris has shamed her position by falling in honored combat, and thus the hand that deemed her unworthy shall take her place. If any would challenge this victory, step forward now." If any thought of moving, they did not test their luck today. The fight, and the sight of so many high ranking dragons flocking to the back of the usurper was enough to quell dissension and outrage. Eva had to fight to keep the grin off of her face. The day the deceased had crossed her had long since passed, but the wolf had vowed that she would rue it. The dragon queen had ruined her chances at an ignorant, blissful life, and so she'd made it her mission to return the favor. Many warned that revenge would not make her happy, would leave her empty and unfulfilled; but as she turned and carefully sat down in Thalestris' smooth marble throne, Eva knew that it was a lie. Crossing her bare, pale, legs she leaned back and sighed, grin finally pulling it's way into the corners of her mouth. She didn't feel empty, she felt whole. Watching two people scrape the remains of the fallen queen from the marble floor and attempt to clean the blood up as the council shuffled forward to offer her their words fulfilled her every waking fantasy. It was even better now that she wasn't dreaming. But she wanted to celebrate this victory, and the way the cowed officiants crowded around her only served to irritate. Waving her hand she silenced their muffled speaking, "Yes, all can wait. Send word to the rest of the kingdom. Call back the generals not here, I want to close ranks. Inform Delano of any dissenting voices, tell the pack to spread." she commanded in a brisk tone. "I have a lot of new territory to cover." She purred with a slow smirk, and she was only answered with curt nods and immediate action as they fanned out away from her, moving to do the tasks assigned. Most were relieved at the ability to do anything, as long as it was far away from the newly risen Queen.

Looking across the room, Eva observed as action took the place of silence, dragons moving to and fro, some shifting and lighting to the windows, others staying in their human guises to work. Golden eyes caught hers. Delano, it seemed, was done giving orders, and was watching her. There was lust in his eyes; whether it was for her naked form, or his ambition for a chance to rule beside her, she wasn't entirely sure. She'd entertained his physical lusts before. It was an easy enough thing, to give him the one thing Thalestris denied, and the promise of retribution was as much an intoxicant to him as it was to her. He had loved the Queen, had given her every fiber of his being, and when the time came, she'd taken that devotion and repayed him only with her disdain. Eva was curious, now that both of their vendetta's had reached fruition, where his ambitions would lead him now? It mattered very little to her. Vibrant green eyes diverted from his smirking face, catching the sight of a familiar face bounding up to her feet. The werewolf was not as formal with her as the dragons were, but she didn't expect her own kind to hold the same, uppity standards as their new allies. Instead of pomf and posturing, the wolf only gave her a salute, before delivering his breathless message. "The queen's consort, Lucien. We've received word that he's on his way," the wolf looked uncomfortable as he paused, his ears quirked backward, loathe to be the bearer of obviously bad news. "Scouts say he's already razed half of the eastern countryside..." He expected her ire, but she was happy to relieve him.

Eva nodded and looked toward the door of the throne room, smiling, causing her subordinate to look mildly confused. "Good. Let him throw his tantrum. Keep an eye on him but let him come, don't risk any hides trying to divert course, tell the pack to lay low, he will have no mercy in his heart," she sighed softly, tilting her head back against the back of the hard, cold marble. "It will be nice so to see my dearest lover once more." She said with a wave of her hand, still sticky and red with blood. Now all that was left for her to do was wait.
