Biography

To be: Erdas' Long-Suffering First Mate. I have too many good ideas for this guy. My options are:

a.Ripple/Current/Spines. I like this one because he looks like he's seething with various anxieties, which tracks considering he's basically Erdas' handler. He's got a star map which fits with the ship's name (Lodestar) as well as the map theme I was going for. I especially like the "character" pieces (the chime and tea items). I think he probably likes a bit of comfort in the hopes that it will de-stress him. (It does not.)

b. Ripple/Current/Runes. This one is more directly related to the cartography theme. Iirc, first mates often function as quartermasters and split duties with the captain. Since Erdas is more of a broad strokes, lateral thinker, I feel like this guy is the more detail-oriented of the two. That's why the "character" pieces here are more related to logistics.

His "head gear" situation is also slightly more flexible (the first scry looks best with a wig + hat or bandana):
