Over generations of archivists, her skills remained sharp in the face of the clan's over-reliance on the power of force. Moon's arrogance. Like her mother and her mother before her, she worked in the background, collecting information. The younger hatchlings thought she was a spy for sure, the way she knew and could describe all visitors to their clan down to the chipped claw of their left hindfoot. It was more of the emotional perception that she prided herself on, not the visual. Anyone could count the number of feathers on a particular Wildclaw and sense something was off when two of those went missing, like when Cinder was particularly agitated a few months ago after losing her familiar to the Beastclans. No, it was her perfect recall of emotional signature that made her valuable to Moon. Enemies and friends alike had little to hide when she got serious.

It made sense that she got along so well with Majesty. They were of similar types. Though, Majesty would be more morose than her on the best day. Tracking the hatchlings of the clan, knowing they would make their way in their own right, outside the clan, find their own mates and families. It made her proud instead of profoundly sad. Majesty was too attached to these things. Some of the clan's offspring would survive and others would not. It was that simple.

Memory's perfect recall was never too colored by emotion, even if she was good at perceiving it.

She realized, after a fashion, that she could help Majesty in her role, and soothe her pain. Manipulating emotions was not something she did often, but love had odd ways of manifesting itself. She would know.
