"The Red Forest"
--- ◈ --- ◈ --- ◈ ---
In the annals of time and in the histories of the Sealight Empire, it has been noted that a substantial forest lies to the north of the empire’s crown city. This forest is reached only by a day’s travel north through moor, heathland, and hill. Craggy and pale rock peeks shyly in patches from underneath long golden grass and colorful blankets of highland heather and audaciously tiny flowers. Great red and gold trees shall stand upon your horizon after one sun’s passing. Other records about the mysterious wood report that it stays burnished in the blazing glory of autumn the year-round. It is a wonderful phenomenon that has yet to be explained, but one that is not taken as an ill omen. No one truly knows the boundaries of the Great Red Wood as none have cared to map its borders, its depth, or any features of the area. And just as no one knows what causes the tress’ colors, none know how old the forest is or how it got there, as many of the species of tree are not common or native to the Sunbeam Ruins.
