Biography
Darjeeling
Barista xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Much of your youth was spent in the care of a group known simply as the "Cleaners," who were hired to seek out and take care of lost corpses. Born with an exceptional olfactory sense rivaling even tundras, you were especially suited for the work and often joined them, although quite young. It was a bit much at first, but you quickly became used to the putrid scent of death and rot, and developed a steely control over your gag reflex. Even so, it was always the cup of tea at the end of each long day that grounded you. The tea itself wasn't special--low-quality leaves that matched their low price tags, as the Cleaners were quite frugal--but every once in a while they'd allow you to splurge on a more pricey brand. As you gradually understood the importance of temperature and time, you began to become enamored by the world of flavor potential. This resulted in your eventual departure from the Cleaners to apprentice at a tea house. It was supposed to be a short stay in that town, but your fascination as you wandered into the shop caught the eye of an older practitioner, and you were swiftly recruited. Still, the Cleaners had raised you, in a way, and it was with misty eyes that they left you with a tradewinds gull and the promise to exchange letters. You still recall both portions of your childhood with great fondness, and your gull gets quite the workout every month, ferrying letters and small parcels to and from both the Cleaners and the tea house. But, as you watch the stress melt out of a Breezetune patron after trying one of your new blends, you muse that there's no other place you'd rather be. |

"I stole some of her teacups for my own travels, but it doesn't seem like she's noticed yet. She's got a real craze for tea, but not for their containers, apparently..." |
