Biography
Divantae
As the clan rules dictate, all events that happen in the clan must be recorded meticulously, and that job has fallen upon Divantae. Divantae is a fantastic scribe, able to eloquently and quickly write down what is said as it is said, and what happens as it happens. He is busy writing from dusk until dawn, and is even known to bolt upright in the middle of the night to write down what another dragon said as they sleep-talked. And when he runs out of parchment, the scroll is sent to the Hall of Records, where Yecord puts it in its place in chronological order, and the clan’s history is officially recorded for the future.
Every word that’s ever been spoken, every hatchling that’s ever hatched, every step that’s ever been taken — Divantae was there to record it all, ever since the moment the position became his. There have been very few moments where he hasn’t been frantically writing something down, and even his mate, Screechfang’s granddaughter Khrynia, finds herself grumbling about the sound of quill against parchment in the night.
The constant writing is beginning to take a toll on Divantae’s wrists, and he knows his ability to keep the clan’s accounts will not endure forever. But even as he struggles with his own frustratingly insubordinate apprentice, who frequently goes behind his back to attempt to “revolutionize” his writing techniques, he keeps writing, in hopes that he can be useful to his clan until the very moment his wrists give out forever.
