Paul

One of the first hatchlings born from the lair, Paul is obedient but can cause some mishap. He would help his father maintain order in the lair and is proud of his mother whenever she would come back from battles with loot. With Erskine having trained and coming back with loot, he couldn't feel prouder of his parents.

In the early days of Hephormet (The Clan), Paul would always be near Erskine as they would try to defeat the BeastClans. It made him disheartened when his father asked Adorinda to continue onward with training against them while he stayed in the lair. While he knew Erskine had always wanted to start a clan with blood lineage he never really agreed with it considering his half siblings like Bella, Paderau, Alona, and Rosefluff would sometimes fight over who the treasure would be spent on and what to spend it on throughout the years. Paul would sometimes argue with them over clothes and apparel which were an extreme luxury to the dragon of the old days and still currently.

Seeing how both Adorinda and Erskine had become busier and tired, as Adorinda searched for specific items, planning for the festival weeks to spoil a dragon. Erskine lead both the Gatherings and was working hard in his battles at the time inspired Paul to take note of what items they were searching for and quantity so that he would keep inventory of the items in the vault.

Currently Paul is in charge of guarding the vault, making sure no one gets through it and would alert Adorinda if someone steals even a coin of gold. With the clan's change from Arcane to Light he now tells Arialya if someone has come to the vault.

Paul helps Arialya manage the finances and sees her stress out when they went over or under budget for the day/week. He helps lessen the load of stress on her by doing some of the finances during the night. Along with Dazzlewood and his younger sister Unni, Ishmerai helps pick up potential items that they could sell in the vault. Of course, Erskine's approval was needed first. With the clan's change to Light flight this was changed to Liquerito who oversees that everything is kept in order.

When Ornella was born he has felt protective of her although she would wander off with Adorinda to see everyone in training. Once Unni joined the family he started to loosen up on his tasks a bit as she helps him relax through mirth and sorting things in the vault.

Seija was his mate. Alongside her he trained during Drakeharvest season 2019. It was harsh for both of them as Ebon showed them the ropes of battling through the Mires but all of the

made the clan feel better seeing as a major percentage are plant eaters.

In October, 12 2021 the clans allegiance was changed to the light flight. Adorinda and Erskine had asked the members of Hephormet (The Clan's former name) to listen to the deacon Lambart before they went through exaltation with the Lightweaver. Paul was saddened and before they had decided to serve the Lightweaver asked if this was the right choice as they had served the Arcanist for years and had expanded their Clan underneath him. Erskine told him that it was fine and that he was finally seeing the light. Adorinda told Paul "It's ok. No dragon has to choose to exalt themselves unless they want to now." Paul asked if he could be exalted since Ornella was also joining them but Adorinda impeded him telling him that Hephormet still needed a dragon like him to guard the vault. That if he wasn't around that he was sure Arialya would be lost. Paul understood and stayed with Hephormet.

Under the deacon Lambart as they had embarked to Laternlea Port from Gejuvaxy (Observatory) Paul felt sentimental over his family now serving Lightweaver.

"You will be doing the same." Lambart told him once. While Adorinda and Erskine had left the clan to serve Lightweaver he and the other's would now work to serve the Lightweaver through efforts and dedication. Paul wanted to argue against this but it made him happy somewhat to know that he could be in close connection with his family.

Tortington and Liquerito would welcome the members of Hephormet into Laternlea Port. Both having a Light Tome they would read the scriptures that would call forth Lightweaver, who asked them to change the name of the clan from 'Hephormet' to something else. The name 'Effulgence' was selected by Liquerito. Paul was hesitant about this name change as he always knew the clan as Hephormet and certain dragons also fought against this name change. Seija, his past mate left the Clan in part due to this as she felt that all order in the Clan was lost with these new rules. Paul couldn't believe this but bid himself farewell before she left the Clan.

Paul was at least grateful that his sister Unni hadn't left the clan. They continued to work through the vault and start saving treasures and gems but the money would not be spent as before on solely some dragons.

"You now serve the Lightweaver. Learn that it is not necessary for you to celebrate the festivals if it doesn't align with your highest good. You can look forward to Festival Weeks but here we mainly serve the Lightweaver. Know that the Lightweaver is everywhere and can see your efforts." Liquerito told the members of Effulgence including Paul.

"Our clan would always look forward to Festival weeks until this sudden "calling" to serve the Lightweaver. Does the Lightweaver not want us to have any fun while we serve her?" Paul asked frustrated by this sudden change.

"No, you will not give light to festival weeks as you previously did in the past. Your dedications are not for naught as you will earn treasures and gems but you will do whatever the Lightweaver calls you to do first. You will not celebrate the previous weeks with a 'recruit' of the month as most of you are all strong enough to fight the Beastclans. You will learn however that the Beastclans are not your enemy throughout this year." Lambart spoke to the members of Effulgence.
