ORIGINS
Kisharaq hails from the Shifting Expanse. He came from a family of scholars who wished for him to become a diplomat, but though he was a hardworking young drake, he was only a mediocre student at best. Nevertheless, through sheer persistence, Kisharaq was able to complete his studies. He soon set out to find work in line with his field. It wasn't long before he left his homeland, traveling with a caravan of merchants as an inventorist. Although he found the task of inventory mind-numbingly boring, his employers noted that he was an excellent guard and that even the most valuable goods were safe with him.

The caravan eventually reached its destination, the Sunbeam Ruins. Here, Kisharaq parted ways from the merchants, who advised him that he would probably do well to seek work outside of his field. Kisharaq took their advice and applied at the Disillusionists' clan not as a diplomat, but as a guard. It was during this time that he met another Ridgeback, Roxley, who had also been trained as a diplomat but had found her calling in another field. The two of them bonded over their similar histories, and it was Roxley who introduced Kisharaq to the wonders of arts and crafts.

CHARACTER
In addition to being honest and trustworthy, Kisharaq is well-liked for his amiability. Most guards get a bad rap as brusque and surly individuals, but he is able to turn away unauthorized visitors with a smile that makes them feel flattered rather than rebuffed.

He has zero patience for paperwork but can spend hours seated comfortably by the vault, in part because he's learned to keep himself busy: his favorite activities are knitting, creating beaded accessories, and origami. In his spare time, he also collaborates with his mate to create clothes, mostly knitted articles for hatchlings.

About the only blight on his character is that he can sometimes be very stubborn. He also has an endless supply of puns that make a lot of clanmates cringe.

For his role, id make him a guard. The fact that he has seemingly endless levels of energy has led many to question why he's chosen such a quiet and still standing position: guarding the clans hoard and riches.
He enjoys it greatly though. He uses the spare time, standing guard outside the vault doors for hours on end, to do a lot of smaller tasks like knitting or jewlery making (not smithing, more in the putting beads on a string kind of way) and is very chatty when people visit him on his post. He appears to be partially using the time to come up with as many stupid puns as possible earing him the nickname 'dadjoke'
He has amazing memory and remeber everything put under his guarding eyes. He can be a bit stiff and rigid when people come to reclaim their stuff. You do not send someone in your stead - he does not believe this tactic and want you to personally come claim your stuff.
He's a pretty impressive fighter and immensely strong. He might not be the most elegant or technically skilled fighter, but if he gets his claws on you he will pin you merciless to the wall with the strength of a mountain and not let go till you surrender - this treatment is applied to faes as well as imperials and other ridgebacks.

RELATIONSHIPS
26565626p.png Roxley | Mate
It was while training in the Disillusionists' Clan that Kisharaq and Roxley met each other. Roxley first taught Kisharaq arts and crafts as a way to help pass the time between study sessions, and they quickly bonded together over shared activities. Even today, she teaches him fun techniques or accompanies him on shopping trips for supplies. They often work together to create clothes for larger clanmates, particularly the Imperials.
29196919p.png Mercator | Subordinate
A junior Vault Guard who reports directly to Kisharaq. Their shifts often overlap, and the two of them can frequently be seen talking with each other about work, food, and family. Kisharaq sometimes tries to get Mercator to join his art projects, but Mercator isn't really interested.
Sorcerous Arms Akhu | Familiar
Kisharaq's familiar is also a loyal guardian of the vault. Often referred to with masculine pronouns -- Kisharaq sometimes tries to talk to him, though since all the sounds Akhu makes are roars and diabolical screeching, it's hard to imagine what kinds of conversations they have. Presumably it has to do with how to best dispose of intruders.

STATS & ABILITIES
combat1-8.png
As the most senior of the vault guards, Kisharaq has received extensive fighting training. He specializes in close-quarters combat and submission holds.
_______________________________________
vitality1-9.png
He has a powerful body and is nearly always in perfect health. Resilient and able to quickly bounce back from illnesses -- though he is a bit susceptible to colds (which is why he and his mate usually knit plenty of winter clothing).

magic1-5.png
Even as a child, Kisharaq was only somewhat interested in magic. His best spell is Shock, which usually manages to paralyze intruders who threaten the security of the lair. He might find himself in trouble if he's up against a skilled mage, however.
_______________________________________
intelligence1-7.png
With his burly frame and wide, amiable grin, it's easy to think of him as simple-minded. He cultivates this facade, since he believes it decreases the likelihood of conflict. He will never be a scholar and his intelligence is not dazzling, but he's very competent at his job and can converse about a wide variety of topics. He enjoys chatting with lairmates about news and current events.
_______________________________________
charisma1-7.png
There isn't really a deceptive bone in Kisharaq's body. A lot of dragons love talking with him; he is easy to approach and never has anything mean to say. Most other dragons willingly go along with what he says not because he is especially charming, but because of how warm and polite he is.
_______________________________________
luck1-6.png
Kisharaq is in a good position these days, but he's mostly gotten there through hard work and persistence. He doesn't really have much in the way of ambition, though, so this isn't a problem for him.
