Biography
Savil
Scholar | Inventor | Leader
Scholar | Inventor | Leader
Savil cared for little more than mathematics and the art of debate and invention—that was, until Tevinter walzed into his life in his generally decorous fashion. The flashy wildclaw had driven Savil mad for a time, fussing over the whole clan despite the fact that he had hardly been there very long. Whenever Tevinter snuffed out Savil’s candles to keep him from working on projects too late in the night, Savil calmly told him that he was over his head, too extravagant, and merely wanted attention. To this, Tevinter laughed, and waited in Savil’s den until the more studious wildclaw finally gave up and wandered over to his nest to settle down. Sometimes, if Savil tried to get up later to continue his work, Tevinter would appear again only to try to sing him to sleep. After that, Savil did as much as he possibly could to not hear the other wildclaw’s singing voice again. Eventually, the knowledge that Savil could gain from solitary study was beginning to wear thin, and he took increasingly long trips to the far reaches of the Starfall Isles. Tevinter noticed his absences, and questioned him ceaselessly when he was home. Somewhere deep down, Savil did not want to admit that he appreciated being able to talk to someone who so genuinely seemed to want to listen, and so he told Tevinter about his adventures—being sure to include the boring archaeological searches just to deter him—but this proved ineffective. |

Savil, a dragon of a sole Wind egg born into an Arcane clan, had always appreciated the studious and intellectual. A natural mathematician from a young age, Savil enjoys solving hard calculations, enhancing telescoping technology, and studying the stars, as did many others of the Arcanist. Though he found his life pleasant, there was a deep yearning inside of him to leave the land he called home, in search of another, in Nature. Nature was where his roots were – he knew Wildclaws hailed from the land, and its abundance of flora and fauna (and lack of urban advancement) felt like a dream to the pale Wildclaw. There he could study in peace, able to see every visible star in the sky, no matter where he roamed. Many times he would tell his wishes to the pesky Tevinter, believing it was no more than a fantasy. But to Tevinter, no dream is merely a fantasy; although Savil did find him irritating, he can't help but accredit him with the push that drove himself, Tevinter, and his fellow friend Sandmint on a journey across Sornieth, leaving them to find a cozy, spacious home with a clan in Nature, protected by the venerable Guardian, Sarihlle. This was the journey of his life, and the best decision he had ever made. Without a doubt, it brought him closer to the dragon he least liked to be around, and now, he calls him – and Sandmint – his two best friends. The scholarly Savil was not prepared for such a journey; at first, he suffered, constantly regretting the choice. Yet Tevinter, familiar with vast travel, and Sandmint, the encouraging ball of sunshine he was, kept Savil confident, motivated, and determined to continue his journey. He would not have survived had he left on his own, and to that, he thanks the two, for showing him a new view of the world, rather than just the bubble of Arcane he knew. Together the three dragons have settled comfortably into their new home, each finding their own slice of life, well in sync with one another. Savil had all that he could wish for: plenty of peace and quiet, a spacious, unpolluted sky, and only a couple dragons he considered his closest and most revered friends. by Alphazi | ........ |
