Elcid can't remember his birth clan.

He doesn't have a clue how he ended up separated from them, how he ended up all alone in the Woodland Path. His first memories are of hiding in the bushes, and watching a Strangler capture its prey.

Why exactly he then decided to pop out of the bushes, and try to befriend the Strangler is a mystery. But that's what he did.

For some reason, the Strangler ended up rather taken with Elcid— who knows why, or what it was thinking, when it took Elcid under its protection.

How long Elcid stayed with the Strangler, he isn't sure— but one day, the Strangler attacked two dragons. Unsurprisingly, the Strangler was swiftly dispatched.

The two dragons— Sol and Fraise— ended up coming face to face with Elcid, and the Strangler's offspring. Oddly enough (or perhaps not), when Fraise offered a place in their clan to the two of them, Elcid agreed enthusiastically.
