But, (cliche alert) once one has the patience and understanding to stick with and accept him, he starts to show more of his personality and simultaneously dissolve that hardened outer layer of indifference, slowly. He is rather relaxed and open- minded; eager to discuss many things that revolve around existentialism, experiences, interests and much more, possibly even to the point of being annoying. Admittedly somewhat enjoys arguing, especially if it's a topic he is particularly knowledgeable about. In rambling speech, he can go on about many topics (pretty much the only time he is willing to speak). And although he may mumble and speak very quietly and incoherently, he gets passionate about the subject. However, if he finds that you didn't grasp what he is conveying (either through technical difficulties such as not being about to hear him or by hearing him but not understanding a thing he's saying), he can't help but feel irate and will subsequently, and very swiftly, give you the silent treatment. Like everyone else. (whether that's a blessing or not depends on you). He, although enveloped in his ridiculous microcosm, he tries to, sometimes unwillingly, stay in the present place and time (which, he finds, is a significant challenge.)
Tries to look cool and unaffected, yet inside he knows that he is neither of those things. He's real shy around others, and gets hella awkward in social situations, especially when given affection of any kind.
Also, whether he likes to admit it or not, a bit of a 'romantic' and sometimes finds himself pondering on sweet things. (No, he's a pretty big romantic actually, shoot)

Taciturn and often alone. Constantly thinking, even when listening to someone or something, doing something that requires attention or when there's simply a intermittent pocket of time that is empty of other duties. His mind is predominantly ruled by obsessive- compulsive thoughts, each repeating, incessant and senseless. He experiences them in silence- for silence is a stark and dramatic contrast to what his disorienting, rambling mind constantly blethers. Besides these thoughts, however, you can find that the particular genre of thoughts he often has are orphic, philosophical (and in turn, existential), and perhaps unsurprisingly, malevolent and grisly at times. Because of these rampant thoughts, he can be described as yonderly, slightly irritated and distant. Doesn't help that his face appears to be constantly affixed in an angry expression, with eyes half- lidded, eyebrows furrowed and corners of his mouth neutral. This causes others to chose to simply leave him alone, which he is fine with, as he can't find himself being able to listen to someone's thoughts while somehow tuning out his own or even if he could, be able to remember or pay attention to what they are saying. While he often doesn't mind being alone, sometimes- in the midst of his isolation- he becomes aware of the concept of
loneliness.
