Biography

The refugee

As she wandered the swamp, Thistle became distracted by the smell of a fresh hatch. She was hungry. After taking on the task of finding the easy prey she sought, a young unguarded Bogsneak hatchling, and catching it she realized she had become lost. Her eyes shot back an forth, trying to find any sign of the path she took to get to where she was, she became panicked when there was no sign left. A heavy rain flowed fresh from the sky, it had wiped out all of her foot prints, and her scent was no where to be found. All that was familiar vanished into her terror filled mind. She began to panic more, taking off into the woods, the young Bogsneak hanging from her jaws, She was so frantic she wasn't able to regain control of her thoughts, to compose herself. She didn't think to stop to take a breath, instead she continued on her run, following things she thought may be familiar. Soon she was hopelessly lost, and no longer in Dragonhome, she had entered The Tangled wood. She ran until she was to exhausted to take another step, falling into a deep slumber.

The next morning Thistle woke to a new noise, something she had never heard before. The clank of skittering metallic feet. A lot of them by the sounds, but she wasnt sure what was making the noise. Her nose rose to the air catching the scent of burnt oil and singed hair. She decided to investigate once the sound stopped. She came across a large Black Iron Creeper, one of its legs was stuck deep inside a thick, fallen tree. Had Thistle not just eaten the baby bog she may have attempted to eat this spider. Instead she set it free, unknowingly forming a bond that would last ages. Her spirits were a bit lifted by her new companion, though admittedly she had planned on only keeping it around as a snack for later that night. After traveling several miles, looking for an open place to take flight Thistle began to loose hope that she would ever get out of this dark place, and find her home. The spider sensed her sadness, and decided to distract her with beautiful webs. Thistle took a seat and happily watched the show. Night was soon upon them again, and Thistle thought better of eating the spider, The only thing that was now familiar to her. They slept.

The next morning Thistle woke to the most glorious sunrise she had ever seen. Over the horizon of The Tangled Wood she was clearly able to make out the great crumbling pillars of the Mirrorlight Promenade. She knew she was nearing the Sunbeam Ruins and a clear flight area. She began to bound towards the light, her steps coming faster as delight filled her mind, shed be able to go home. See her mom and dad, she thought to herself. Her strides getting even faster then she knew she was able to move. After a short time she had reached the edge of The Tangled Wood, her feet soothed instantly by the soft ground, no thorns poked her here and she appreciated it. Taking a moment, she closed her eyes, inhaling deeply. Instead of going straight home like she originally had planned Thistle got caught up in the sights, after a few hours of wandering around, watching the hatchlings play, while the adults were free to do as they pleased. She became entranced with this new lands. She set her new roots in Mirrorlight Promenade, in a lair that she would forever be cherished.
