Sundew

She was born of Light, the blood of both Angel and Light. Sundew never knew what she was. She knew of her mother and father as gentle imperials, caring for her, teaching her magic. Imperials were dangerous, most dragons thought. Sundew's home was not safe, as it consisted with only the giant, wise dragons, many clans seeked war upon them.

Her cries of stopping war was unheard, and many of her friends gave their lives to protect her. So much bloodshed. Why was it her to be protected? Why can't she protect them instead, she had begged herself. "It is Lightweaver's gift. Blessed. Protect yourself, Sundew". It was a mistake. Her clan rose, from the dead, slaying the other dragon clans. Sundew knew she had the power, but only, why couldn't she summon it?

It was raining blood. So she walked away, and pushed her memories aside. Sundew promised herself to enroll herself for the best magic academies in Sornieth. To seek help with the most powerful dragon mages. To learn from the knowledgeable Light Scholars. It hurt so much, and she thought, Will she ever forget this moment? Even when her Light touches the world, will she forget the moment that dragons gave their lifeblood to protect her light?

Sundew was already a natural born prodigy and exceptional memory. She treasured her skills very much. The dragons she encountered through her journey were kind, and most of them thought she was a very beautiful Imperial. "Do I really shine with that much Light?" She had once asked a group, which they nodded their heads furiously. All her life she was oblivious, when they told her of the Light Angel.

The Light Angel is a powerful entity, and it resides in Light Imperials. Imperials with the entity within them are blessed with eternal beauty and unwavering light. It is said that the entity is created by Lightweaver herself, to protect light. "Is it true"? Sundew whispered. The dragons, of all colours and shapes, all breeds and origins, bowed. Even her professors, the High Mages, kneeling on their knees. "You are to protect us". One of her teachers, a powerful Mage murmured. "Very well." With a blinding display of her flayed wings, she radiated. A sign of dominating power.

"Welcome, Daughter". Lightweaver murmured. Her light emblem manifested on top of her head, glowing and pulsing with Light Energy. "The next Light Angel, Sundew".
