Jam

It's another day at the tea stand
And Tea's prepared to make it the best
He's armed with spices and leaves galore
With paper umbrellas for all his guests

He's got his favourite cauldron ready
His shop's been swept to a blinding sheen
He knows they'll all want his famous green tea
With rose and a touch of strawberry

Rosemary, ginger, cinnamon, and clove
If he's got them, in they go
Jasmine, mint, and star anise
There's nothing like a touch of seasoning

And - oh dear, he's served the wrong thing
The dragon who wanted mint got rosemary
The Spiral at the counter just got coffee tea
And you should know to never give a noodle caffeine

The Spiral starts shaking, and Tea dives for his pot
Maybe a soothing cup of tea will make it stop
But holy Eleven - oh no, it's too late
He just hopes it doesn't blow up in his face -

And Jam's sure it'll be another best
She's rearranging her glass jars
And giving her jams a taste test

Her shop is neat and tidy
And floor's been polished till it shines
Outside, she can see customers
Waiting in orderly lines

Orange, strawberry, cherry, lime
She knows her jams are just sublime
Apple, peaches, and nectarine
A sweet aroma wafts from the clear gelatine

Before she can open her store, she hears a loud crash
And makes it to the window in all but a flash
She can see a Spiral bouncing off the walls
And immediately knows who is behind this all

"Tea's added something he shouldn't again,
"I'll bet a hundred gems it's caffeine."
She goes over to the tea shop in a rush
Resigning herself to cleaning up.

"You always make me pick up your things!" Jam complains.
Tea replies, "Well, you've always been better at everything,
"But this time it's my fault, I agree-
"Tell me, how can I thank you for helping?"

A glint appears in Jam's eyes,
"I'm glad you're letting me decide
"I always help you when you're in need -
"It's time for you to repay my deeds."

And Jam is relaxing in the sweet summer breeze
Behind her Tea is working away at their stores
To pay for the repairing fees

Tea and jam are both sweet to taste
But there's something that makes them better
It's to sit down and relax with the one you love
And enjoy the treats together
