Vesta is the clan's Watcher. She takes pride in watching over the lair with her large yet concealed watch tower. Usually each day passes by without a hustle and Vesta heads home before dusk comes and the Night workers come out. There was when a few times Vesta would get really excited about seeing a massive flock of pigeons gliding across the breezy gusts and whenever a dragon flew out to work. Vesta would greet them and welcome them back once they go home. There was this one time years ago, her mate Ace went outside the lair parameters to head to the coliseum, he has to head early in the morning whilst most clans are asleep so that he can get the most out his time. Vesta waited and waited but Ace should've long come home. It's been days yet he is nowhere at sight. Her sense of hope drops every single day that Ace isn't seen and tries to hold onto her wishful thinking. After 2 weeks, Ace manages to be sighted, with his left wing slightly teared. It looks to as if he'd taken shelter after a hard fought battle. Vesta immediately flew down to assist him and asked where he'd been. Ace looks back and says that it was another clan far east, a pack of savage mirrors attacked him whilst he was hunting for food when there was no more near his lair. He tried to fly away but a mirror manage to latch onto his wing and tear it apart. It's a minor wound but not a scar that'll heal. Of course, this is years ago when Ace wasn't so experienced, Vesta was saddened to this sudden news but has sworn to take her job more seriously. If any pack of savage dragons does come to close to the borders of the lair, Vesta would immediately notify Digitzohran, the clan leader to send out his most skilled warriors. Her clear sense of eyesight easily helps her find returning and leaving dragons. Vesta has been in many emergency situations before such as wild ambush attacks, hurricanes or even heavy thunder situations. Weather reports are much more common than ambush attacks since the clan camouflages the lair very well. Occasionally heavy hurricanes will strike the Wind Rider's lair and a large proportion of the camouflage can be blown away. Dragons such as Marbles the clan gardener and Interferon the clan's wind ambassador will come in a rush to gather additional plants and crops from the hoard to cover up the blown away disguise. The clan often uses plants and bark from gathering to cover up the den entrance. This wards away any beastclans nearby and other neighbouring dragon clans. Although the clan forms alliances with smaller beastclans, larger more aggressive beastclans are often avoided. Vesta loves seeing massive flocks of birds. Her familiar, a spirit of fire is a bird as well and often accompanies Vesta on her lookout for any dangers. Her job is pretty much full time, from early in the morning to late in the evening when the sun begins to set. She is also partners with two of the Night guards who patrols the clan's parameters at the end of her work shift named Reoshen and CaptainMidnight respectively. Sometimes Vesta ponders what these two dragons enjoy doing while patrolling the woods outside at night. Often times she will attempt to stay a little longer at work just to talk to them about her experiences at her day shift. Vesta enjoys her time with Ace, even though she doesn't have the time to be with him often because Ace works tirelessly in the coliseum. Occasionally when Ace is off duty, he would often fly over to her watchtower to visit her. They share a small batch of hatchlings every so month and celebrate elemental holidays together. Often for a day Ace is permitted to skip a day at work to accompany Vesta at her watchtower. |
