G L A C I N U B E M THE CLAN ICE FLIGHT REP ╰━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╯ L O R E Snowcloud Dragons can only be created when a dragon’s magic gathers in the heart of stormclouds above the Southern Icefields. When the snow is forced to condense, so does the magic. This continues until the stormcloud takes on a life of its own. Down from the clouds comes the snow, along with its horde of elemental ice dragons, their blue and white patterns resembling clouds in the sky. Their perfect camouflage means that they can disappear at will in the daylight when in flight. That makes them excellent hunters, for when a piece of the sky itself plunges down to pluck up an unsuspecting fish, there is no warning at all. Snow Clouds are mostly found in the peaks and high places in the Southern Icefields; they are restricted to their genes/colours for camouflage, and to the specific breeds and Flights because they had to be airborne most of the time to be caught up in the magical snow clouds in the first place and become transfigured into what they are now. A Snapper, for example, would never be able to get high enough or be light enough to be thus affected. Mirrors spend much of their time travelling and hunting overland, rather than above; Wildclaws are unsuited to long-distance flight, and Ridgebacks spend much of their time tunnelling and thus would not be exposed to the risk of Snow Cloud formation.
