I've known you forever. Since the day I hatched you've been there for me. Been there when I fell, when I couldn't get back up you were always there. Do you remember? Those beautiful days when the summer sky was clear blue? You and I, we conquered the world. It was like we were the only two dragons in all of the world, experiencing, exploring, adventuring. We never had to worry about the next day.

I remember how we used to challenge each other. See who could climb the highest, fly the farthest. Who could have guessed it would be me who won that final challenge? Every time one of us won, we'd celebrate like we had just been gifted by the heavens. You must see from where you are, how large the world is, how much of it we never got to see. How much... you will never get to see.

Do you remember how we lived together? I could never be happier, and never will. If I could go back in time, re-live those precious days when we were together... if only. If only we could watch that oak tree again, watch it grow and die with the seasons. We had our entire lives ahead of us, countless adventures and stories to tell. Do you still treasure those glorious moments we had, when nothing was certain, but our bond with each other?

I sometimes stare outside, at the trees, mountains, seas, volcanoes, moons, at everything that could have been ours. If only. I remember how you were there. How you were always there. Then suddenly... you were gone. And like that, everything changed.

Now I have my responsibilities. I have my clan. When I walk outside, I swear I can see you when I pass the trees. I swear I can hear you in the rustle of the breeze. My days of adventure are over. I wish you were here. I try to keep a grip, but my mind wanders. It wanders to you. Whenever I go anywhere, I think of you. I think of what you mean to me. I think of what life would be if you were still here. I think of what it could be...
