B I O G R A P H Y

______ Ever since Eris was a hatchling, she has been haunted by the curse of misfortune - a curse not directly targeting herself so much as those around her. A series of accidents surrounding the people spending time with her made the other dragons wary of her, and soon they avoided even looking her way, making her childhood a very lonely one.

______ She often spent time alone in the forest, trying to explore it and perhaps befriending some of the creatures there. For a while, she enjoyed the company of a Sparrowmouse, spending most of her days with and even building a small house for it. It was when she returned to the forest one day, to find the familiar crushed inside the hand-built lair that she realized that her curse was not limited to dragons and that she would have to live in solitude to protect the world from the chaos and misfortune she brought along.

______ While she wandered the world on her own, Eris learned a lot of things about surviving on her own. Most importantly, she learned that other creatures' misfortune did not always mean bad luck for herself and that it could even be helpful, in cases of hunting, fighting or fleeing from hopeless battles. More often than not, it was out of sheer luck - or the enemy's bad luck - that she managed to win fights, gather provisions and keep going mostly unharmed.

______ Eris had almost accepted her eternal solitude when she crossed paths with a bitter dragon, whose heart seemed angry and restless. As he approached her, all she could do was try to push him away. She knew that she wasn't meant for company and while she had gotten used to hurting creatures for survival, she did not want to harm anyone without reason.
Zelus turned out to be more stubborn than she had anticipated and despite her warnings and protests, he joined her on her aimless wandering.

______ Any moment, Eris expected something bad to happen to her new companion, but days turned into weeks and much to her confusion, the dragon remained unharmed. Eventually, she dared to let her guard down, dreading the inevitable regret every time she reminded herself of the curse, but deep gratitude and affection grew inside her heart and filled it with a warmth she might have never felt before.

______ When they eventually found a clan that welcomed them into their ranks, Eris was still hesitant, and while she seems to have brought no harm to any of her friends since, she still lives very carefully and likes to keep to herself when Zelus isn't around.

PERSONALITY

______ Due to the seclusion and isolation she suffered in her childhood, Eris isn't used to interacting with people and is rather shy when it comes to other dragons. The belief that she is cursed has put a damper on her self-esteem, but she is actually a very clever tactician.

______ She is a very gentle creature who wants to keep others safe from harm, and she cares a lot about her clan, even though she doesn't talk much. The only one who manages to lure her out of her shell is her husband Zelus, around whom she relaxes visibly. When he is around, she can be heard laughing and even telling stories that have become quite popular because of her pleasant way of narrating.

______ Eris is very humble and grateful for her friends and family and would do anything to protect them. With her devoted personality, she tries to put the other members of the clan at ease without attracting too much attention to herself.

______ Not only is she the only one able to calm Zelus down when he is is one of his restless, conflict-seeking moods, but she also doesn't mind doing so. She feels like she owes all her luck and happiness to him and his stubbornness, and gladly does anything to return the favour.
The fear that her curse might kick in and bring chaos and misfortune to all her beloved ones is rooted deep inside her heart, and only Zelus manages to still her worries when they resurface and catch her off guard.
