Whether it was ǝɔuǝpᴉɔuᴉoɔ or fate that Chaos and Insanity met during one of their individual ǝɹnsɐǝɹʇ hunts and decided to join forces it anybody's guess, but it was an event
˙ɹǝʌǝɹoɟ sǝʌᴉl ɹᴉǝɥʇ ɟo ɥʇoq pǝƃuɐɥɔ ʇɐɥʇ

With Insanity's ƃuᴉuunɔ and Chaos' ǝɔɹoɟ ǝʇnɹq, they became a dangerous duo and
˙ɥʇᴉʍ pǝuoʞɔǝɹ ǝq oʇ ǝɔɹoɟ ɐ

Nothing could stand in their way and, restless and ǝlqɐᴉʇɐsuᴉ, they travelled the land always seeking more treasure.
˙ʇdǝɔuoɔ uǝᴉlɐ uɐ ʎɥʇɐdɯǝ 'ǝɔɐlduoɯɯoɔ ǝɹǝʍ sǝᴉʇᴉlɐʇɐℲ

They brought pain ɹǝʌǝɹǝɥʍ they went and nothing seemed able to stop them.

It was then that word reached them about a magical cave in which ǝlqɐɹnsɐǝɯɯᴉ treasures were rumored to exist. Of course the duo could not resist such a uoᴉʇɐʇdɯǝʇ and immediately headed out to find the ǝʌɐɔ snouᴉɯo, only to find it guarded by a group of unknown dragons.
'sɹǝƃuɐɹʇs ǝsǝɥʇ ʎq pǝddoʇs ǝq sǝʌlǝsɯǝɥʇ ʇǝl oʇ ƃuᴉoƃ ʇoN
Chaos and Insanity managed to penetrate the cave by ǝɔɹoɟ anyway and immediately began to search for the promised loot.

They ventured deep into the cave, unaware of the ɔᴉƃɐɯ that was slowly starting to effect them. By the time they had reached the deeper parts of the cave, they had found some treasure -
˙ɹǝʌǝʍoɥ 'ǝɹoɯ ɹɐɟ ʇsol pɐɥ ʎǝɥʇ

Insanity's once snᴉuǝƃ mind had become unable to formulate a single coherent idea. Chaos had become aggressive and unable to control his sǝslndɯᴉ. The cave had turned them both into sɹǝʇsuoɯ, even worse than they were before. Crazy and unbridled, the brilliant duo they used to be was gone.
˙ɹǝʌǝ uɐɥʇ snoɹǝƃuɐp ǝɹoɯ ǝɹǝʍ ʎǝɥʇ ʇnq

Knowing that releasing them back into the ǝpᴉsʇno plɹoʍ would be catastrophic, the clan tasked with guarding the cave, decided they had no other choice but to keep the duo locked away inside.
