Nekui: Awakened

for when nekui becomes more spirit than dragon

Nekui was always determined to know. To know dragons, to know spells, to know history, to know simply everything. To consume and devour every piece of knowledge he could get his claws on, he's entranced with the power that came not from physical, but mental capabilities. No dragon really knows where such intense desire stemmed from; it isn't like Nekui was ever going to give up that information anyways. Nekui believes in taking but not giving when it comes to knowledge, the more he gives up, the more he loses. But on a particular night at the library(similar to how all of his nights are usually spent), Nekui found an equally particular book. And compared to the solid colored bindings and pristine condition of most books, Nekui was just naturally drawn to this tome that could barely even be considered one. The tattered pages, the leather peeling off the cover, the pages simultaneously loosening themselves from the binding and turning into dust, it was unreal. And as Nekui carefully peeled the cover open, the runes suddenly glowed a harsh purple and he was suddenly face to face with an ancient spirit. The spirit could read Nekui's intentions through his glassy spectacles and stoney face, and with a cackle, it made a proposition for the Skydancer. "Free me, and I will grant you the visions of Ancients" it whispered. Ever since that day, dragon and spirit walked beside each other. While the Skydancer was granted knowledge, he still wanted to search for more, even with the spirit's continuous protests against it.

RELATIONSHIPS

SPIRIT - companion
While the origins of the spirit are a mystery to Nekui(despite much pestering), it seems not to care much for it's owner and his fate. As per their agreement, the spirit can take control of Nekui's body at any point for any reason. Once transformed, this is known as an "awakened" state; Nekui's magical capabilities are expanded and he becomes naturally stronger.

RISAE - boss
Risae remains the only dragon Nekui willingly gives up his information to, and that's only because he's contractually obliged to as a member of the Archivists. And while Nekui respects Risae and trusts her to some extent, there is some unspoken distance between the leader and her right hand dragon.
