Sabilan's first memories were those of gentleness. The delicate hammers of the tools as they carefully carved out the linear patterns into his jade skin, his unknown creator gently cradling his head in claws that almost seemed calloused despite their scales. Ernest, he was called when the orb that held his very soul in it slotted into the hole in his forehead so perfectly, a guard of jade. But as war swept through the lands, his creator fled their workshop, his orb being taken with them as well. Ernest can't remember much after his creator's departure as his limbs began to creak and moan, reaching out to his one connection to dragonkind until he inevitably felt his consciousness slip away from him . So, without any say, he waited. His orb was sold off by the sculptor, passed down through the claws of merchants and traders and gem stone collectors until it landed in the two very fragile claws of one Ogoun. His, Sabilan as he was now called, next memories were not of his creator's workshop, but of a burnished palace all too unfamiliar to him.

Ogoun was Sabilan's new master. As Sabilan was seemingly intended to guard others, he has now been made into Ogoun's own personal guard. Sabilan has no strong feelings about this new arrangement.
