Her fires burned with passion

The smoke suffocated her with grief

So she descended to a realm of darkness

To seek from her flames relief

For sometimes to find yourself

You must first let your soul leave

And on the day she found a new friend

DISCOVERY. My first birthday since joining FR, I really wanted a dragon to commemorate the day, especially with such a special date. Months in advance, I found two users kind enough to lend me their dragons. The dragons had 3 eggs, since chances of a female dragon are 50/50, the odds were certainly in my favor to get a lovely birthday present. But of course, all 3 dragons hatched male . . . I searched high and low the rest of the day, searching for a dragon that I could dearly love. For most of the day, nothing caught my eye and I started to become discouraged.

Then I decided to start browsing through dragons with more lax requirements: Green primary and a pink secondary, my favorite combo of all. I saw those blush wings on an imperial female, my favorite breed and the breed I was hoping to find, and knew I had to take a closer look. To my surprise, I found that her basic tert was blush also, a double blush! I checked her parents because I was curious how such a beautiful combo was created. Her parents were both very far from blush, and even more surprising, her father was a fae! The chances of an imperial female, with double blush, I had to check: 0.00084% and that number would be even smaller when you calculate the chances to get a green primary for the gorgeous green/pink scheme I love. If this wasn't enough to convince me that I had been blessed with the perfect birthday dragon, I checked her ID number and realized it ended in "2018". I bought her right on the spot (she was only 6kt) and set to geneing her. I had already bought a bee gene in preparation for my original plan so I was able to use that right away, I ran out and got her a glimmer and giraffe as well. The water sprite wouldn't work as her familiar, but I was fortunate to win a glasswing flutter in the nature badge fundraiser raffle on my birthday too which fit her perfectly, yet another good omen! I am so happy to have found her and I hope she will be my good luck charm.

There was a flame hidden within her heart
That threatened worlds to burn
And while she was taught the danger of her fires
It was control she couldn't learn

So the elders called a meeting
And told her she must go
To descend to the realm of spirits
Or give up her life, her soul

And into the darkness she descended
Whispers of the undead in her ears
Her heart as fragile as a candle
Its smoke as real as her fears

Was this the price for being fire
Was this retribution for burning bright?
What daemon in the undead realm
Wouldn't wish to take her life?

But still she continued her descent into darkness
Holding back all her tears
For water didn't mix with fire
And liquid sorrow would bring her nowhere

She descended into the darkness
Seeking the one who could make her whole
Who could carve her a path to the future
And tamper with the emotions that gave fires fuel

She descended into the darkness
And there in the realm she found home
For the heat of her flames were no longer so dangerous
When she wasn't forced to share it alone
