Biography

Two nests are tucked into the damp entrance hall of the shack: one plain, muddy and expressionless, the other surrounded by a strange array of ornaments, tools and trinkets, tucked into an alcove below the stairs. A painting of a colourful fae surrounded by fluffy tundra hatchlings far larger than him sits on a shelf chiselled out of the mud wall, a damp moss beginning to tarnish the inside of the frame. Pieces of deep blue armour lie scattered around the nest, sitting among talismans, blankets, and half-finished wood carvings softened by the damp.

The single dragons of the Night and the Day Watch never speak to each other, but they occasionally find hastily scribbled notes in their nests saying things like Warren Street and Watch the tunnels, SSW. When one returns the other has often already left to patrol the perpetually dark, winding alleys of the Brambles. Despite this, both dragons will say they work well together, and neither are eager to swap out their counterpart for a younger and greener watchman.
