She is a child. She is an adult. She is none of the two. Instead, she is something in between, just like Sham’Shara is no mortal and none of the Eleven.

She was found by the deity of life by sheer accident. Sham’Shara had wandered off, away from the den that was a bizarre mix between hatred and love, skulls and pools of blood, surrounded by blooming daisies and trees heavy with fruits.

Sham’Shara found the small pearlcatcher playing with the skulls of rats and tumbleweed. Serene was the name stowed upon the small creature, before Shara picked them up and carried them into their home, no questions asked.

Serene had no memories of her beginnings, her past, it all was gone, she only remembered waking up in the spot she was found. And dark eyes.

Becoming the first daughter of Sham’Shara and their beloved, dark god Varian, Serene was seamlessly adopted into a family of gods and misfits, revered by their followers and spies. A crown of snowbells rested on her head and toys were scattered around her feet.

She was the patron deity of children, the protector and the one children prayed to. A beloved, eternal child in a family of many a gods.
