After the awakening of the grand blood mother and father from beneath the ice, Ramayana had come to claim the lair for her own, being able to speak to the eternal mother and father as they dreamt in their eternal sleep. While keeping the previous denizens of the clan happy, she worked her way to being the second to answer to, under Nabooru, and started to recruit other blood drinking dragons from around Sornieth.

What Nabooru and the others of the clan don't quite know, is that Ramayana is trying to raise a vampiric army to best the shade if it ever does return. for that, she's going to be needing a lot of dragons. And a lot of blood.
