Biography
Initially hailing from a plague clan near the Hellwell Undercroft, Carpathia was always fascinated by the musicians of her clan. Of course, nearly every clan member was a musician in some way; from unique individual wing drapes created with bones and stones that caused each dragon to produce a unique melody as they danced to chimes made with potion bottles and more complex instruments of bones, hide, and sinew, every dragon had a noisemaker of some kind that they considered a prized possession.
Eventually deciding to depart from her birthclan, Carpathia traveled Sorneith exploring the instruments and song of other clans and flights. Her final stop was in water flight territory; what unique music can there be, when sound is so muffled by water? However, the Skydancer was pleasantly surprised by the natural rhythm of waves on the shore, and was positively transfixed the first time she heard whale song. Unlike birdsong, generally the same few notes every time, the melancholy whale cries varied every time, their voices as unique as a fingerprint and their meanings perhaps as complex as anything Carpathia had ever spoken.
Remaining with Gestalt to continue to study whalesong, Carpathia has learned spells that enable her to remain underwater longer and dive deeper, following the whales as best as she can.
