As the sky darkened above the Sunbeam Ruins, an egg cracked. A small Fae rolled out of her shell, blinking in the twilight, into a world hushed and breathless beneath a blazing ring.

Her parents stood over her, silent. What were they to make of this? What sort of omen was it for their first nest to hatch under a total eclipse of the sun? Totality passed, and the confused hatchling squeezed her eyes shut in the brightness. Her mother scooped her up and took her into the temple; born in darkness or not, this was her daughter. Her sun-shadow. Solumbra.

In time they came to see the circumstances of her birth as a blessing. The product of an intersection of Light and Shadow, Solumbra was uniquely suited to the night, preferring the glow of fireflies and lanterns to the glare of the sun. When other dragons slept, she stood vigil over her clan's home - a Light in the darkness. 		cL3WgLg.png
