Procellarum is a dignified dragon, but not cold or unfriendly. Sensitive to the light, he prefers to be active after sunset, and can most often be found interacting with clanmates on warm summer evenings or tending to his silk moths by moonlight. If active during the day, he is usually dyeing, preparing, or weaving the silk threads someplace dark.

In addition to producing fabric for Beneficentia, he is an important source of food for the largely insectivorous clan, as the process of making silk involves boiling the cocoons with the larvae still inside. Despite this, and the moths' incredibly short lifespan, Procellarum is rather fond of them as a group, and cares for his worms and adult moths fastidiously.

He occasionally provides leaves from the mulberry trees he grows as food for the silkworks to his mate, Tranquilitatis, for use in her tea blends. The worms, for their part, don't seem to mind.
