althea: "with healing power"
Althea loves to read books and play music, though she does not have a favorite instrument in particular. She has a habit of singing to herself, so often that it sneaks its way into everyday speech. ~ It quickly becomes either charming or irritating to those around her. Still, the joy of expressing herself through song is much greater than her fear of being an annoyance to others.
Althea is physically frail, quickly tiring after mild exercise and getting sick often with her weak immune system. She is afraid of heights and can be a bit of a germaphobe. For these reasons, Althea feels weak and powerless, fueling her low self-esteem. She tries to put on a positive front to hide her inner lack of pride. Her sister, Angelica, gives her a hard time for being so vulnerable. Despite her harsh demeanor on the surface, Angelica does what she can to look out for Althea when she needs it. Althea happens to be the closest to Jasper aside from Kiyomi, which sets off her sister like a firecracker. Since Althea has ‘no chance of protecting herself from boys,’ Angelica takes it upon herself to defend her.
Althea plans on studying civil law when she grows up, unlike her fellow students of Kiyomi. She isn’t too confident in her ability to protect others, but Althea treats it more as a dream to pursue than her upcoming future. As of now, she has been serving as a secretary for the office: taking calls, sorting files, cleaning and other menial tasks. Staying indoors is within Althea’s realm of comfort, but it is a barrier she will have to break someday if she wants to be a lawyer.
