Biography
Prisma Iridesca Jeweler | True Neutral | Twink With Resting ***** Face Prisma is the most skilled jeweler in the Brilliant Cascades, with an eye for gems and a talent for cutting, fitting, and appraising them. He's the proprietor of Hidden Gems Jewelry in Santa Solare, a small but very upscale jewelry boutique. He's very distinctive, and difficult to miss-- he wears little in the way of clothing, preferring to show off his gembond to a great extent, and the stones embedded in his flesh are always immaculately polished, reflecting in a way not unlike that of opaque diamonds. His appearance is his utmost priority, and he'll do what he must to ensure that he looks fantastic at any given time. He was born into high society, with his mother serving as a political adviser and campaign manager for a high-ranking light official (with alleged mafia connections) and his father serving as her trophy husband. The two are still together, but their relationship has certainly changed. They're no longer capable of having children, as his father has since consumed a Gaoler scroll for a more rugged, powerful look-- Prisma was part of the last clutch to be born by them. The baby of the family, alongside his clutchmate Aurora, he grew up a bit spoiled, and it certainly shows. Although charming and polite to customers, he can be a bit prickly, especially when he doesn't get his way, and off-hours takes on a demeanor one might consider bratty or entitled. Though some may write him off as nothing more than a materialistic snob, he certainly has a heart! He cares deeply for those close to him, and campaigns against social stigma regarding those with gembond, and though his silver tongue oftentimes turns acerbic, when getting down to brass tacks, it becomes clear that his heart is in the right place. Prisma is one of several dragons influenced by the natural magical radiation present within the Crystal Pools. Being born with gembond, he thought he'd be safe from further permutations, but was unfortunately wrong. During expeditions to scout out ideal gem harvesting sites (for Crystal Creek Mining Company to take care of), he'd spent a significant enough amount of time there to affect his gembond-- his nodes became more numerous, more geometric, their mineral makeup changed. He wasn't very bothered by it, honestly. It's a few extra steps in his care routine, and, certainly, there's some troubles with finding a mate due to stigma, but he really thinks they're quite pretty, even more than before, and he's taken any and all complications surprisingly in stride. Though his favored companion is an (extremely spoiled) marbled serpenta by the name Zirconia, he also keeps a few familiars native to the Crystal Pools, as his extensive knowledge with geology and gemology, as well as his personal experience with caring for gem-studded creatures, allows him to provide excellent care for them, and he loves them all dearly-- just another example of his secret soft side. Most of them are rescues from other upper-class dragons who viewed them more as eye-candy than real living, breathing creatures with their own needs and desires. He keeps four varieties of gem cobra/striker (Opal, Onyx, Amethyst and Emerald), and two rhodochrosite cranes, as well. Quite the handful, combined, but he takes his time with them to ensure that all their needs are well met. He's a frequent visitor at Starbuck's coffee shop, as he needs a solid amount of caffeine to start the day out strong. His order is pretty long and complex, half pumps of sugary syrups and half vegan substitutions, but she's long since memorized it, and it's nearly done by the time he reaches the counter, more often than not. The two like to spend a bit of time making small talk, swapping stories and rumors-- one could consider them gossip buddies, though neither would use a term so silly or conspicuous to describe their relationship. |
