Felix is kind of a *******, but he means well. He's smug, and a showoff, and teasing, too, but he's surprisingly caring and level headed when need be. He's all about hedonism-- looking good, feeling good, doing good; eating what you want, wearing what you want, smoking what you want. But regarding his job, he's the most responsible and organized dragon around. Not a penny out of place. He's damn good at his job, and he knows it! He cares a lot about his family, and when his son or his grandsons need something, he's always there to offer some mediocre advice, some comfort food in the form of some delightful cavatappi marinara, and a shoulder to cry on. He jokes around a lot, but if things get serious, you know he'll never mock you or make you feel ashamed. He gets it, and trust him when he says he's done worse. It'll all be okay. Y'know?

It seems like him and Kaiju from the Pain Town in the Tangled Wood, the clan his son and grandchildren have chosen to inhabit, have finally stopped dancing around each other. Admittedly, they both seem a lot more relaxed these days. If they haven't started dating yet, well, something's happened, at the very least. The two still lay nests with others pretty regularly, so who knows? Neither of them seem very keen to talk about it, not that that will stop Cupid from trying to learn ever last dirty detail. But who cares as long as they're happy, right?

Of course, that's hardly the only thing Felix is tight-lipped about.

He's pretty quiet about his past, to the point of actively avoiding conversation about it. Hell, not even his own son knows much, just that his biological mom is effectively out of the picture. The only dragon in the entire lair who has the full story is Nightshade, and she's not saying a word about it. You're better off asking a wall, frankly. From what other dragons have put together, it sounds like he's running from something...or someone. Felix is obviously from the Sunbeam Ruins, and he spends quite a bit of time waxing poetic about how wonderful and beautiful it is-- oh the culture, the food, the architecture, he'll go on and on and on. But he avoids trips to the Mirrorlight Promenade like the plague. He'll claim he's not interested when asked, or that he's busy, and only gets more defensive about it the more you push him. Once, when his tongue was loosened by a little too much wine, he admitted that he can't go back. That it's not safe for Rayne, for him to be there-- and that it's not safe for him, either.

Atlantica, the local medium and private eye, says that he's got a lot to repent for. That he was in a bad place, sure, but his actions were his nonetheless.

When you ask him about Rayne's mom, he'll laugh and say something about Nightshade basically being his coparent, but the more perceptive members of the clan will notice him get a bit misty eyed, and it's inevitably not long before he finds a reason to retreat to his den.

Those who know Felix best know that it doesn't matter. He's a good person, or at least, trying his very best to be one. Whatever happened in the past, it can stay there, for all they care. They know the man he used to be, the man who did whatever people are so worried about, it's not the same one that cracks stupid dad jokes and offers to watch your kids and insists that you don't eat enough and that you should come over for dinner to try some of his cooking.

That's the Felix that matters.
